roms not booting

Hello,

I have tried flashing two ROMS so far onto my tmobile galaxy s2. All Starts v.7 and cyanogenmod 10.1. both allow me to flash the roms onto the phone when I install them from CM Recovery, but when I go to reboot the phone and boot the new ROM it just hangs at the all star logo and the cyanogenmod logo, respectively.

Can someone please help? Prior to installing these I have done the factory wipe, wiping the data system and cache, and the davlik wipe. Thank God I backed up my stock rom..

my phone is currently at 4.0.4. do i need to upgrade to 4.1.2 prior to installing these roms? im just trying to figure out why this isnt working

You shouldn't need to update to 4.1

Are you flashing it from a safe recovery? How long are you giving it before you do a battery pull?

havent tried a battery pull. i'll try that. i dont know about safe recovery. Im holding down my buttons to get to the cmrecovery menu if thats what you mean

I had sprints variant of the s2 and there was certain recoveries you could and couldn't flash some, that's why I asked.

Do you let the phone sit for at least 5 minutes while it's cycling the splash/boot screen?
