well thanks again guys got everything workin so far an lovin the ROM totlth. I got a video player that works too if es file exporer's doesnt work for everybody just download MX player its free then you enable s/w decoder in its settings so it'll work as a video player for your browsers

Hey totlth, could you describe to me the issue with the sdcard on cm10.1? Because I might be able help fix that problem, depending on the issue.

I'm not real sure why its not being recognized. I have the vold.fstab right as far as I can tell anyway. There is a cm10.1 tester in this thread I think. I'm on my phone and its a pain to scroll thru all the posts with my old eyes.

I understand, I'm doing the same thing with my phone right now at the moment. Well I'll look through the thread for the tester and I'll let you know when I have found the problem and how to fix it.

Well I didn't find a cm10.1 tester and I would build one, but for some reason my laptop won't download the cyanogenmod repo. I know how to set it up and everything and I have all the requirements needed in order for it to work except that repo. I think it has something to do with my internet. Urrrgh!

I Tried to do this but my phone wont install the app it says "app not installed" I set the permission's to rw-r--r-- and its not working, i dont even have a messaging app anymore, someone please help, i am an amateur with this stuff and ive been flashing roms on every phone ive had since the huawei ascend. ive never had this problem. Any help would be amazing.
edit: Re read through the forum.. everypage >.< and figured out what i did wrong, i had accidentally hit "delete" on root explorer after i copied the mms fix to my system lol i feel stupid.

I got caught up in things. But unfortunately, I wasn't able to get my phone recognized with QPST. And I've had USB Debugging enabled. Any ideas?

usb debugging isnt diagnostic mode. theres a dial code for that i believe. check around, maybe the warp forum has it or something but itll be a needle in a haystack

Go into your sons development options and make sure the "Show GPU view updates" is checked off. I had a phone that had this checked on for no apparent reason. Let me know if this is the problem.

I do have one problem with this rom, its that i can't use viber with it 
i really need this app as i'm out of the country and my fiance doesn't have unlimited calling, she has AT&T and i used to call her everyday but now i can't. Please find a fix for this sometime soon, i'm not asking im begging you please i really need this to use this app. I looked into what happens is that certain rom's like cyanogenmod and paranoid android re-route the voice service that viber use, could you please find a fix for this.

or u could just flash a stock rom and use that ans have everything working if u really need the app that bad js lol.

ETA: Searched the thread and found Tester 11, which I think is the latest. Gonna find GAPS and give it a try later.

I found out the problem when I was comparing both cm10/.1 device repos. If you check the cm10.1_device_zte_elden repo, in ramdisk/init.qcom.rc, on early-init
export EXTERNAL_STORAGE /storage/sdcard0 is incorrect. it should be /mnt/sdcard. The sdcard folder was just placed in a different location on the phone's filesystem. If this isn't right then I don't know what is. I hope this works for everyone.

I flashed 11 and lost CDMA. Data is fine, but phone days it's roaming and calls do not work. I've tried factory reset, going back to stock, the zte update with no luck. I've seen others who've had similar problems with 10.1 but they could reset with Odin and then call in a reset, which we don't have obviously.

cm10.1 changed the way sd cards mount. so storage is the correct place. good try though
the issue from what ive been able to gather has something to do with the init binary being from cm10 though i could be wrong. the switch over should be simple. a few path edits a couple permission differences and everything else seemed to take to it quite easily but the ics based zte devices with their screwed up kernels just dont work like they should at boot

Unfortunately thats what I ended up doing, I just restored my nandroid backup. I do really like this rom and if anyone know's a fix or anything that would maybe fix this, that any input would be great.

My phone was doing the same thing when I installed cm10tester7 but it also erased my whole account info and the metro customer service numbers like activation. So I went back to stock but nothing work. So sadly I had to get a new phone. But I figured out that you can use qpst on your PC to backup all of your accounts info so if you lose it when flashing a ROM or MOD, you can use qpst to write it back into your phone. There should be a thread that talks about qpst for the avid on the avid all things root forum. I hope this helps for you.

Thanks, actually that's very helpful. I'll download and make a backup before I flag another ROM. A new replacement is on the way. At least I still have data heh.
