no 1.6 at launch - huh?

We shall see.

So can one set it to notify you specially if someone you specifically want to hear from tweets? Or do you just keep on checking through the list?

Depends on the app you're using.

On the Blackberry I use Ubertwitter and it does notifications. Don't know about the Android apps.

Maybe I'll have to invest a little time into finding a good android app. I just use the standard peep at the moment.

So, I notice you included a link in your last tweet - did the hyperlink shorten on it's own?

By the way......sorry to hijack the thread........... ;)

One that's getting a lot of attention is Swift.

You're gonna pay them to put a screen protector on? I would never pay that or charge anyone to do that

I pay them because they warranty the work if it ever degrades and they will always replace it. I have all of my high use devices protected. My Zune HD was my most recent device.

Also, I will be all over Twitter (@Agent420) after I get my Hero. I look forward to the rest of the updates from this group. The girl at my local Best Buy already has my account and ID information and will have it activated at opening.

Cant wait!

here ya go....

someone asks some esoteric thing about cell phone code

and a sprint guy says...

great question - just a little background, Android 1.5 (or cupcake) was built targeted toward GSM devices, however the 1.5 OS was implemented on Sprint HTC Hero to support CDMA so hopefully the only nuances you might see are in how customer values are returned from the device vs how how actual Android APIs work (such as Location, messaging, intents, etc) which are meant to be seamless across any device implementing Android 1.5 (ex: HTC G1 or HTC Hero).

MEID from sprint are 14 characters in length and hexadecimal based.

On the specific value returned for your specific API call, we will check on that and post the response later today to this thread with the answer.

Thanks
Sprint ADP

basically, they did a few little changes to 1.5 to make it work on CDMA - that's how come these heros w/ 1.5 can work on sprint

See now why couldn't they just say that instead all that other mumbo jumbo

I understood it perfectly.

And this info was also on the first page, but I guess Scorch was the only one to look at it. ;)

Well my friend that makes you smarter than me. All I read was blah blah blah hexi something blah blah blah

Yeah they got their info from PocketLint also. I just called Sprint Tech Support the dude acted as if he's never heard of the Hero.

The guy at my Sprint store didn't even know what android was when I asked about it recently. Then he tried to sell me a Pre. *rolls eyes*
