sprint hero user guide (cool!)

i will be scanning though this myself. If I or anyone comes across some cool or interesting things please post in this thread.

someone already noted "mobile network sharing" ("tethering" by another name)

Your device’s data capabilities enable you to use its high-speed data connection as a modem for your laptop computer. You can send and receive email and browse the Internet anywhere on the Nationwide Sprint Network.

see pg 108 (or type in 118 in the PDF page number)

I would LOVE to be able to turn a Hero into a mobile wireless hot spot, using Wifi Tether. I sure hope this is doable on Sprint's Hero. ;)

Something I've noticed in all the videos I've watched on this device, and I've just noticed the same thing on page 3 (pdf page 12) in the Quick Start Guide.

Is it just me, or is the mic hole off-center just a hair to the left?

I am genuinely excited for you all waiting on this handset.

I think the mods should sticky an official "unboxing now" thread for you all.

haha! yeah - a lot of phones are like that! i've noticed that!

i think the way sound works, an inch one way or the other doesn't produce any noticeable difference - but you'd think you'd want it on the centerline so that a call while holding it to your right ear or left ear would be the same huh?

(gee.. maybe just a lil OCD there??)
j/k!!
:p

If all else fails you can root your phone and do this. My friend on Sprint did this and so did I on my Google Ion on T-mobile, it's pretty sweet.

There have been concerns that Sprint may have made it harder to root. I wonder if there's any truth to this...?
