Thanks to sun_dream @ xda, we now have a fully working Sense 5 port for our device!

Myself, mammothjojo & chubbzlou have taken the base sun_dream provided and cleaned it up a bit, fixed a few things, and uploaded.

  • When calling from Calendar, preview is oversized and covers dial pad (I'm probably the only one that notices this) - Can't find where to resize this
  • Dialer in Car Mode is oversized, making dialing using number pad impossible - can't figure out how to resize this either

Thanks to funluan as well for fixing the "Activate this Device" icon in the Settings.apk

I wasn't clear from the original thread - normal HTC camera but some sort of Zoe feature in the gallery?

Anyway, looking forward to trying this. :)

No Zoe support that I can see, sorry.

EDIT: I take that back. There is some cool feature in Gallery that might be what you're talking about. But it appears I stripped it out by accident. Looks like I'll be putting it back for r11.
 
r12 is uploading. Did some more cleanup, put HTC Share back, added DIAG mode support (untested), and updated busybox & toolbox to latest versions from Stericson.

I also took out the Wifi Tether app in hopes that it might have something to do with Native hotspot not working, but i doubt it. If you need the APK, it's still on svn - I just removed it from the zip so I can clean flash without it.

you had to release this just when i took my upgrade and gave up my evo 4g lte.....now i want my phone back so i can try this.

is there anyway you can port this for the note 3? or even better, i still have my og evo that i use as a mp3 player....maybe you can port sense 5 to that;)

I have problem with r12
I am using wifi tether app from treve but the other phone can't detect my phone, is there any specific settings for the app?
Other than that, this rom is amazing
 
I see I'm not the only one who's been uber busy!!! :D

I'm downloading this now, hopefully I have some time to flash this tonight.

I was running the Sense5 rom that was on SVN, it was ok. Had a few issues, camera drove me nuts, and the duplicate file glitch was in that rom as well.

Thanks again for all you do for the community Cap'n, you are the man!! :)

Yes, there are specific settings.

Change Device-Profile = Generic ICS/JB (wlan0)
Check "WiFi driver reload"
Grant root access when prompted (this may take a while to come up)

I also enable encryption and change the SSID & password, but those things shouldn't be necessary.
 
r13 coming with streaming fix. It will require either a clean flash, or a manual update to proxy settings using EPST (##DATA#). Updated Google Music to latest version, and did a bunch more cleanup. Exporting for testing now, and will upload shortly. Next on my list is tethering, but I'm not even sure why it doesn't work. The HTC Transfer Tool/Wizard has no issues starting Hotspot, but the issue must be related to connecting it to data, specifically.

I haven't looked any further into the duplicate files issue, but if those are the only issues, I'd say those are minor bugs and that this is working pretty well.

EDIT: In order to fix the streaming issues, you will need your MSL code. MSL Reader is a free app on the Play Store that will retrieve it for you.

Once you have your MSL, open the phone application, and on the dialer, input ##3282#. Choose Edit Mode, and then input your MSL. If prompted to grant EPST root permissions, you can deny (or grant, but it's not needed).

Choose the "Advanced" section, and scroll down to the "RTSP/HTTP Setting.". Input the following values:

RTSP proxy IP: rtsp.vog.sprintpcs.com
RTSP proxy port: 554
HTTP proxy IP: pd.vog.sprintpcs.com
HTTP proxy port: 8085

The values should save automatically when you press the back button, and now you can enjoy fully working streaming! :)

The values you're showing are the Sprint defaults.

What streaming issue does that fix?? :confused:

iHeartRadio doesn't play for me on LTE. TinyShark won't download/buffer music on Custom profile. Streaming Video Player won't play movies on data (at least not on LTE).

I am aware of the proxy tyranny, but I can only say that this fixes these issues. If you're not having them, or exclusively using WiFi, then you can continue to leave them as-is.

I was having the issue on eHRPD as well, but maybe it's related to the Network Vision upgrades. At any rate, since I know you know how to zero them out, and since you're not having this issue, I think it's safe to say you don't need the fix. That being said . . .

r13 upload is complete. Now to apply OMJ's modified Phone.apk with Roam only mod and make r14. I probably won't upload a zip for just that, though.
 
Btw - did you check the DSS proxy while you were at it?

I've heard over the years that's device self service, doesn't matter so leave it alone, or fixes youtube stuttering, or fixes throttling on the MVNOs.

I've always left it alone, just tossing this out there.

Gah. One gig free on internal, two on my 64 GB card.

I need to do some serious cleaning so I can make backups and flash this. :p :D

When I visit one of the kids, roaming alone doesn't cut it. I'm going to try to flash the Verizon PRL next time I'm down there.

Does OMJ's mod just allow forced roaming or does it allow PRL management?
