this question may have already been answered/discussed before but a quick search didn't turn anything up for me

would the EVO be able to utilize Clear's 4G network?

Hi Acce$$. The quick answer is YES. The long answer: Sprint owns 51% of Clear. You'll see more about that in the official WiMAX thread, starting with post #1.

Why are so many of your posts wrong?

I have 3 invites, and I am giving them away here.

I have Google voice too, where is the option to hand out invites?

I never got an invite was pointless I signed up 3 days later I got an invite not like it's hard. Also what posts are you referring to?

The comment about your posts, I apologize, I was thinking of someone else.

I get irked when people comment on things that they are incorrect about, that is all.

Humm weird, I don't have that. Never had any invites show up and never have invited anyone so... to be honest that's the first time I've even seen that option. I guess your right although to be honest I put my email address in a few months ago and 3 days later I had an invite. Give it a try whoever was asking for one.

Auto, would you mind giving me an invite? Unless someone else really wants it.

I'm honestly more curious about it right now more than anything. I may not use it much right now but I can see getting involved with it more than I finally have the EVO in my hands.

Hello, long-time lurker, first time poster. I'm totally on the bandwagon with you guys about wanting the EVO. I have cinematic dreams involving this beautiful piece of technology. Besides, this forum has been really informative with subjects that I knew vaguely or nothing about!! I think the intellectual debates as well as the OT discussions are quite entertaining - I guess I'm one of the few that are happy to see four new pages to wade through. Nevertheless, user names have become familiar as well as writing styles, so I feel like I know some of you well. I guess it's as Jackson says: we're like a family. It'll be sad to see this thing get out of control once the release of the phone is upon us, but it's only natural of a forum setting.

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself! Sorry for the tl;dr. Just another female, another fan. :p

And since we're talking about Google Voice, I'd love to have your invite, Auto. I signed up for an invitation from Google months ago, but never received one. If you still have any left to give, that would be awesome.

Google used to give out 3 invites per email that signed up with Google Voice. They no longer do that because of the # of people signed up.

BTW - I've been a lurker for about a month. I'm tired of my ATT service dropping calls on a certain road out here, so I'm going to jump on the EVO bandwagon ASAP. Hopefully Sprint's service is better for my normal treks!!

Welcome, shepx5. Looks like you're in an area where Sprint has great coverage and Texas has some of the best WiMAX coverage in the country.

Doing my usual random searches of Sprint Evo on Google this morning......Its sooo funny how I am seeing all these other sites blogging today about the rumored price of $199 from the SAME link I posted in here earlier yesterday morning.

I disagree, but lets look into it to make sure everyone has the right answer. That was the main reason I wanted GV.

I have and use google voice now with Sprint. If you have Sprint-to-home which is where you can set either 3 or 5 numbers to be unlimited minutes (sorta like MyFavs or Friends and Family on other networks) then you can utilize GV to provide unlimited minutes for all your voice calls. [I am not sure about this, but I recall reading recently that Sprint has discontinued offering Sprint-to-home, which is something which is/was free that retentions department would provide). Since Sprint has begun Any wireless, Any time I have had basically unlimited minutes without regard for using GV as almost all my calls are to other wireless numbers.
