Root [Virgin Mobile] [MOD][MK5][4.3+]All Things Mods!

Oh okay you're referring to the modules. Okay. Well I'll be trying it out because I like the battery percentage in status bar but in TouchWhiz that also had the battery icon accompanying it which is unnecessary. I really like the circle battery indicator or even just the icon with the percentage over it instead of next to it like in Cyanogenmod.

Excessive use of IMG and URL in quote, haha (all you need is the IMG BB, no need for URL tags) very nice screen by the way ;). No icons though?

Thanks, still learning on the image upload thing, I also don't know how to provide a "mention" to just the username where it sets it up like a link in a post here. I use Sidebar Pro on CM 11 in order to provide a dock which is swipeable from the side of the screen in order to leave my homescreen uncluttered. The feature is built into Carbon, it is called Ribbons, and I like it quite a lot, I consider it an indispensable feature personally.

I use the app: Lux Lite
It's better because you can make the screen darker and you have way more options than just a check box ;). Try it out!

Honestly I don't "need" brightness settings; I leave it on auto. I just don't want a green checkmark in my blue themed notification drawer. :D

I ended up just disabling auto so the check isn't there.

I've never heard of that. Probably because I haven't flashed a official CM11.You should look into Action Launcher, it's kind of like that. They came out with a free version not to long ago as well.

Sidebar, both free and pro, is just an app available in the Play Store, I use it when Ribbons aren't built into the rom. Awesome developer by the way, his apps are very intuitive and useful. My launcher is Nova Pro, but I will definitely look into your suggestion as well.

I'm not able to install Xposed. I get this error:

I wonder if a flashable zip of the circle battery mod is available for Touch Whiz 4.3 since that's all I'm really wanting lol

I used the default Android auto brightness checkbox before and then switched to Lux. I found that Lux saved me battery and also adjusted the screen much better than Android ever was able to.

However, be careful not to use the night/astronomer modes in Lux as that is bad for AMOLED screens.

Wanam is awesome!! I've freed up so much room in the status bar! Shrunk the clock down, removed the am/pm because I think it's obvious if it's morning or evening lol, and the circle battery mod is so nice!!

I have my phone themed to look allot like Cyanogenmod. It's funny how a new look can even make the phone seem snappier hahaha if course it isn't but it's really fun!

Thanks for the letting me know about this! For the record you can update the op it has been tested to work without issues on MK5 with Knox bootloader. I have asked people to put whether they are running the Knox bootloader or not in my kernel thread as well but I'm beginning to think it's safe to say the bootloader doesn't care about mods, kernels, roms; all it cares about is if you try to replace the bootloader (ie Odin firmware flashes etc)

Great to hear that! Do you think I should update OP and just have Odex/Deodex on it and get rid of the Knox Bootloader part? I think I might add Wanam to OP too, even though it's a Xposed app, it's awesome haha.

I'm not sure about getting rid of the Knox bootloader part just on the off chance that it may cause issues although I seriously doubt it. But I do think Wanam should be added considering it's made just for Touchwhiz :)

Have another Xposed module for you if you want to change the fonts on a per-app basis, it is called, not surprisingly, Per App Fonts. Instead of applying a font across the entire system, you can pick and choose from the pre-loaded font packages to apply on any given app you want and leave the rest of the system default intact. KitKat version of Roboto is one of the pre-loaded packages, it's pretty nice if you aren't running KitKat. There is also the option to download and use other font packages as well. On KitKat, I also really like the screen touch sound, especially as compared to the TouchWiz "water drop" or whatever they call it. I can upload the .ogg file along with instructions if anyone wants to change their screen touch sound; this will work on any ROM, by the way. I installed the file for use on my aging (a whopping 2 1/2 years, but old in the tech world!) Xoom tablet, I even replaced the keyboard sounds with the file as well.

That would be great! Upload everything, I hate the stock sounds. How would you go about changing them also?

OP has been updated :)

The procedure is similar to the one I posted in the second part of my tutorial on modifying Sprint ROM's where you can make whatever notification sound you want part of the system (notification sounds folder doesn't have access to custom ringtones like the phone ringtones folder does in system/media/audio). In that same file location, besides the notifications and ringtones folders, there is a folder named "ui" which contains the various touch sounds (screen touch, several keyboard touch sounds, etc.). Once you have the .ogg file you want to use (like the one I am going to upload), you rename it to match the file name of the sound you want to replace. The one for screen touch sounds is called Effect_Tick.ogg. Using ES File Explorer to copy and paste, just replace the undesired one with the desired, renamed one, accept the warning message about "file name already exists." You don't need to backup this specific file as long as you have a ROM backup, as flashing the backup will revert all system-oriented files to what they were. Last step is to reboot phone, and then new sound will be applied.

Awesome, cannot wait to try!

I just looked and actually the touch screen sounds are: "TW_Touch.ogg" (without " " ).

As long as you rename the file to match what it is replacing you should be fine, the system interface is going to be directed to that specific file name. Nandroid first regardless. I was referencing off of what my phone shows me as I typed my initial set of instructions, I am currently running CM 11, so I would assume TW and AOSP have their own naming protocols. File locations should also be the same as well, though.

That makes sense. Is the file your uploading the KitKat sound from CM11?

Yeah, I don't know if you've heard it in action but it is actually a very pleasant sound for a screen touch, not obtrusive at all. Hard to describe it otherwise. Don't know that any of the other sounds are that different from any other ROM, as in keyboard touch sounds, lock/unlock, and whatever else.

Haven't heard it in a action, YET! ;)
