2.1 back down to 1.5 WITHOUT ROOT! (READ POST #102)

I'll be the news ticker in this thread.

It is confirmed FroYo will fully support Flash. So, you know what that means, right? 2.1 is it, as far as a new firmware update. Maybe some bug fixes, maybe, but after that, we're gonna coast it out until the end of our contracts.

Might mean we catch the Snapdragon processor on its way out. Kinda like how we caught the Eris processor on its way out.

Why do you say that? Nothing will keep froyo from being ported to the eris.

Anywho, with the Desire root method being released tomorrow, (It'll probably work on the Incredible too! ) that gives us a closer chance to rooting the Eris leaked 2.1.

Voice to text with Vlingo has been working great for me. I messed with LWP on the Moto Droid and just didn't see anything to write home about.

Especially with everyone tweaking sync settings and 3G usage, using live wallpaper would just be dumb if you want better battery.

The gimmick wears out after a while, and like I said before, you start to realize they are just used to sugarcoat the shortcomings of your phone.

I'm having various issues with the phone/dialer program (severe intermittent lag, which can eventually crash the whole system). Everything else runs smoother than 1.5, but functioning as a phone is priority number one for me.

I want root so I can try one of the roms with the webview fix (for gmail images) and audio fix, and I'd also like the ability to downgrade if I need warranty service before the OTA.

I have had so many calls dropped due to no audio and microphone (both dropped out in the middle of countless calls)... So being able to go back to 1.5 would help me love my phone again...

I miss having a full functioning "phone"

This is my biggest problem right now. I want to be able to answer a phone call and not have to restart it every other phone call!!!

<-----is glad he missed the drama I just wanted to commend acidbath and trident on how well they managed everything. I'm a little late to the action, but i thought it needed to be said. I really hope jcase or the OP come thru for you guys. I had to roll back to 1.5 from the leak the old fashioned way (by getting my phone replaced) It was for a legitimate problem though.

This is the only reason for me. It's a major issue.
