The Eris was rooted using an engineering ROM and it was done after you quit using the Eris. How, exactly, did you "help" to root the Eris? To me it seemed more like you were interested in the attention that comes with being some sort of spokesman for the dev team. You did nothing.
Correct, Eris' engineering rom was provided to Framework and I by caboose. Framework promptly stole his mom's 1.5 eris, and I promptly begged my wife for her's. We flashed it, confirmed it worked. Sat on it for a couple days making sure nothing bad was gunna happen, then I published it.
Lots of effort on may fronts went into rooting the eris, but it was never truely "rooted" in the sense of being exploited. It was handed to us.
**caboose did not have a means of testing the rom, at that time.
sed didn't tick off any developers that I know of, and has provided help to me and others.

no need for the disrespect guys. ya, i dont agree with the way this site is changing recently, mods beings overly power hungry, practically demanding that they get to try it first, deleting threads just because they feel like it etc, but the point is that these people still help. so i personally feel that i can deal with their bullshit if they continue to help the community.
and sed...that was a personal attack and completely uncalled for. whether or not acidbath had anything to do with the rooting is irrelevant. he is still an amazing help on these forums.

Lol....I couldn't help but laugh..how exactly did you help? I am willing to bet 95%+ of all the claimed boasts made by so called developers on net forums are FOS and came from someplace else, they just posted it first. Just as the so called leaks and roots came from the development teams at verizon and HTC
If any of the people here new 1/10th of what they claimed to know they wouldn't be here in the first place, they would be employed at these firms doing what they claim they can do.

It was not a demand at all. We asked, and he complied. We want to make sure that this method can safely take the Eris back to 1.5 without bricking your phone. We're looking out for you, believe it or not.

this was directed at you. though i feel that it is in some ways the fault of all these new members, i dont agree with how strict you have become. i have seen quite a few threads deleted for, as far as i could tell, no reason. i have seen more threads locked on this site than most other forums.
this site is a lot different than it was even a month ago. membership has shot up, which is a great thing, the more people we can get on here helping with tis phone the better. however, there were quite a few less helpful people that came along too. i understand that it was their behavior that made you crack down, but i feel like you are coming down too hard. the forums on apple weren't even this bad...

Debating is one thing. Do it for hours a day. Deceiving people and arguing over stupid details...
There are some members from the beginning of this board that I don't see that often anymore and most of them have stopped because of the 2.1 threads overwhelming the forums.
I've been on plenty of forums where people ask for help and don't use the search, but NEVER on this scale.
Some mods are also power hungry and constantly deleting and editing threads. Like going off-topic can be 100% prevented.
It has to be said because I think more mods need to be added and/or some of them need to go. They either make poor decisions or make none at all. In the subsection that has the second most posts after the Droid, there needs to be more moderation.

No Worries....Actually he did have a point in refernce to the Eris Root...I was paraphrasing and it was incorrect.
The Eris root was gained by chance and like I have posted so so often before...Jcase and Caboose did the work there.
As far as the HTC Tatoo...I did help Root that with some shellcode we were working on...
It really doesnt matter though....I only want to help others here and learn everyday and make this a great forum
I dont need to print out a resume of ROMs or Mods or projects to gain everyone on the internets approval...
Just ignore it and take the high road.
