What exactly does Swype do? I Googled it and am looking at their website. Some sort of advanced keyboard?
Anyone know how to turn off the vibration when i am typing on the keyboard? I shut off haptic feedback and thats not it
It's a new form of input for touchscreen phones. Basically, instead of pressing on letters, you drag your finger across the keyboard to form the word. It's great for one hand input.

Thanks very much. Believe it or not this is my first smartphone (and touch screen to boot). I have a lot to learn about the device and what it can do.
Thanks!
I know I'm not going to find everything in the first 45 minutes, but does one of the keys on the keyboard bring up a number pad, so if I'm typing a serial number or phone number as part of a message, I don't have to hold those top row keys down and wait for the number key to pop up there?
When people post I'll try to keep a master list thats continually updated.
Unless a MOD thinks someone else should and will handle it, I would love to help out
Oh mannnn, is that what that key is for????? Excellent, Thanks!Yep, on right of space bar - key show 12#.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think there's an option menu you can bring up on the keyboard. From them you can disable it.
Can you mention the types of animations are turned off with "Show some" and which are turned off with "Turn off animations". The only animation that comes to mind is the sense animation when you pinch from the home.Heres a speed tip that i posted for the eris, it'll work on the incredible also.
Basically you turn off animations and it makes the phone feel much quicker.
Menu>Settings>Sound & Display>Animation
Set it to Animations Off. There are 3 settings: Show All Animations, Show Some Animations, and Turn Off Animations, the off options is the best for overall performance.

So in transferring my homemade ringtones (30 sec clips, less than 350K files), I hook up my Inc to my PC, and 2 USB drives show up. One drive has a folder called mp3. Under that folder I create a folder called Ringtones and put my mp3 files here. When I finish up and unhook the phone, I look through my ringtone choices, and voila, there are my ringtones! Is it really that easy?
Got my Gmail and Verizon email accounts set up, but Yahoo still giving me issues.
