Help Using the optical trackpad button to wake the phone

I want to be able to wake the phone by pressing the trackpad button. (like the iPhone's home button, just converted :) ) I've looked around and can't seem to find a way to set this. I tried the "lockbot" app someone had recommended but it did more then i wanted and still didn't seem to enable that button to wake the phone. Any ideas?

i dont' know if its possible with stock. I know you couldn't with N1 unless you had rooted and used cyanogemmod. So it might be the same as Incredible.

I wish they would add the option though.

nevermind

Nevermind because you figured out a way to do it? Or nevermind because you dont care anymore?

If you did find out a way to do this, please share. Havent got mine yet, but i'd definitely like to be able to do this

nevermind cause i didn't read the whole initial post. He didn't wanna use all the features of Lockbot

The Lockbot does do more, but that doesn't mean you have to use the extra stuff. When you get go to My Themes and click menu to go to playlist. Turn off all the other lock screens except the one you want, which for myself was the Hero, which is just like the stock Inc lock screen.

Then go to configurations and fool around with the settings. I have mine set to turn on right when the screen goes black, and the trackpad button DOES turnt he screen on, although there has been some issues with it not doing it every time. I'd say it's a 95% success rate, which is good enough for me for now.

There is also an app called No Lock that is even simpler.

Does anyone know of an app or setting to allow to phone to wake upon clicking the optical track pad? I'm so use to doing this with my ipod touch that i really wished the DI could do it too. Wake the screen from the power button is sort of annoying

Me too! I really do miss the hard buttons of the Eris. It'd be nice if this was a toggle: If off, turn on, if on, turn off.

yeah, i'd like this myself....it hasn't even been a day and I'm getting used to it...but the optical pad "wake up" would be cool

There's a thread floating around that says Lockbot will do this, but I can't figure out how. If someone can provide details as to how Lockbot enables this functionality, that would be sweet.

I downloaded LockBot and you just need to configure a theme and it works. You do need to press and hold the button for a long time. It then brings up your custom lock screen with custom wallpaper.

here is my thread...

im still having spotty trackpad button unlock, volume button always works and power button always works, just trackpad works MOST of the time

i applied the eclair lock screen because i wanted a mute button thats easy, i went into photoshop and changed the green icon to red and i have one of the red incredible android guys as the wallpaper so it looks alot better now

I did it with the free version of lockbot. Works awesome. I do not have to hold the optical ball down for a long time -- just a click.
from the main screen click: menu/config/lock long press home key

I also tried No Lock. It has less features than Lockbot, and the results of trackball not working 100% were the same. I uninstalled it and stuck with Lockbot.

THe good thing about LockBot is you can set a delay for the lock screen up to 10 minutes. So when the screen goes black, you can just hit the trackpad within that time limit and it will turn on, NO LOCK SCREEN. After that time limit, you have to unlock it.

Great app IMHO, and solves our problem for now.

So by default when an SMS message comes through to my phone it is displayed on the lock screen. Will it still be displayed using LockBot?

Also will LockBot allow me to keep the current look and feel (swipe down) as the default lock screen just letting me use the trackball?

this is my lockscreen right now for the free version of lockbot, it alternates between a few wallpapers each time
