Help Using the optical trackpad button to wake the phone

Ok so after playing with this app its pretty good but very buggy when trying to wake the screen with the track pad sometimes it works and then sometimes u have to hold down the click pad for a bit not really worth the price. Hopefully they will update in the future

^ I also noticed that. Hopefully they work out the kinks.. i'll redownload it once they do.

This has been a problem with two of the lock apps I've tried. I think it's something to do with the Inc and the trackpad. Hopefully someone figures it out.

^ From what I read, people on other devices are also running into bugs, so it may be the app (which isnt unheard of, as thats what updates are for)

Anyone find a solution? I've been looking and trying for hours...

LockBot (provides wake from volume rocker/optical pad and also customized lock screens)

and

No Lock - bypasses lock screen entirely and provides wake from volume/optical pad

are the only two options in the market at the moment.

I like No Lock since once i get it to wake i dont have to THEN unlock the phone... i may switch back to LockBot though since i've become privy to the fact that you can set a timeout.

Also, using Handcent or Chomp SMS will allow SMS/MMS to pop up OVER the lock screen (with or without the aforementioned lock screen apps) so that you dont have to wake/unlock your Inc just to read/reply to texts...

I'm wondering if waking the phone with the trackpad in the Pro version of LockBot works more conistently than the Free version.

Can anyone with the Pro Version confirm or Deny?

One thing i wish either of these apps had was the ability to DISABLE wake on the Volume..they're too easy to press. The Track pad is perfect..

but that's less important to me than making sure the trackpad works 100% of the time.

As for those who are trying to figure out the patter of when the trackpad will wake the phone and when it wont. I can't figure it out. It has happened immediately after locking as well as 10 minutes after locking. It also wakes sometimes long after the screen has been locked.

No rhyme or reason...

update please!

I downloaded the pro version and yes the clicking the trackpad doesn't always wake.

Just about to post about this issue but found this thread. It would just be so much more natural to use the optical pad to wake the phone than the power button.

Has anybody found a solution/app for this?

The No Lock app listed above does it. You have to press the optical button for a few seconds if it has been asleep for a over a minute to wake the screen. It works though.

I still want a lock screen though instead of bypassing it entirely. It's not a real big deal but something I'll be looking for in the future as more apps are developed for the incredible.

Right but with my silicone case bumping the volume rocker is easier with the phone in my pocket.

My Lock may do what you want (the thread has kinda lost focus, so I'm not sure what everyone wants LOL)

It will allow the optical button to wake the phone and allows for the lock screen to remain when waking.

I've downloaded and have been playing with No Lock for a bit.. There is really no customizing it. When lock is enabled it functions just like stock. The optical button does not wake the phone. When it is disabled a slight bump of the volume rocker wakes it up and there is no lock screen.

I think an app to perform this is probably one of the most sought after apps for Incredible users.

I really love lockbot...and I prefer it over no lock....like someone else says...the button works 95% of the time...oh well the 5% just make me press it longer or twice...works like a charm if you only choose one screen and you don't have to swipe anymore after unlocking the first "customized" time!lockbot combined with "call confirm" app while not asleep (so you don't make unwanted calls)....all I need!!

Been looking for something as well. One thing I miss from my iphone is the home button wake. Nice to quickly see if a message came through and or the time.

I'm using lock 2.0
The optical "button" will wake up the phone if I have an active notification

Is this the mylock auto unlock? There were several mylock apps in market, which one allows for use of the optical button?

thanks

I just want to press the trackpad button and wake the phone. I really would rather not have a screen lock replacement. Seems like I will have to wait for root for this.
