4/29 Deliveries

Just when I went downstairs to make lunch the Fedex guy rings my bell and the waiting was over.... I HAVE THE INCREDIBLE...... Man I'm such a nerd....

edit - It came with a 2gb sd card :D

I haven't been more than 10 ft from my door since 7 am! less than 3 hrs to go till the 3 pm deadline.. He'll probably show at 2:59..

Fedex guy told me that he was glad I was here... I told him I was more glad that he was here!

Also got the gradient case, man this thing looks good!

Wow! Seems like we are all getting them at the same time....going to be hard to just let this charge up. I'm thinking of turning it on and playing with it while charging.

"Out for delivery"

"To be delivered before 3pm"

I have to admit, I've run to the door twice now, after hearing the diesel engine and airbrakes, only to see a garbage truck.

Come one FedEx man, commmooooon!

Ugh..I thought shipping to a FedEx Kinko's Hold At center would be considered a Business delivery. But I just called and they show it in the system as a Residential delivery. So I guess I'll be waiting until after work instead of getting it on my lunch break.

Oh well..I'll be happy as long as I have it today.

mine says its at the dest facility but not on the truck for delivery!
its still predicted to be here by 3 but thats in an hour and im about to be out the door for work.

Fail Fed Ex. Fail.

Just got mine guys and it is INCREDIBLE. Im charging it right now but i did activate it but everything seems fine.

the phone is VERY SLIM, and it doesnt feel cheep at all. The backcover is very sleek looking

It won't have any effect at all, not even a minor one. Trust me; I've been a "battery hobbyist" for nearly a decade now. Lithium-Polymer and Lithium Ion batteries have no memory effect whatsoever; these warnings and advice that you're reading are a carryover from previous battery chemistries where it was good to be do several full drain/recharge cycles.

Lithium Ion, in fact, is actually very bad to do a full discharge and it will reduce the capacity of your battery. 4.2v is full charge for lithium ion/Lithium Polymer, and there is a protection circuit built into the battery somewhere around 2.4-2.7v. Once that threshold of discharge is reached, the battery will cut itself off to prevent even worse damage. This is why sometimes a phone will have trouble turning back on after the battery totally dies - the battery has to be recharged past the cutoff threshold before the phone will start up again. This is the point where you have "0%" battery life left on the phone. It's much better to charge your phone frequently than to do full charges and discharges - it will keep your battery in much better shape.

Other than avoiding full drains, the other thing you should do is to only use high quality chargers. Now it won't matter much if you charge the battery in your phone as the charging algorithms are software controlled in the phone itself, but I would be very wary of using ebay wall chargers for the loose or extra batteries. Lithium Ion gets damaged if charged past 4.2-4.25 volts, and becomes an explosion risk should the internal vents fail. The problem with many cheap chargers is that they continue to slowly trickle charge past 4.2v, so you'll be fine if you use a DMM to check the voltage of the batttery every ten or so minutes, but if you don't it will slowly rise to 4.21, 4.22, 4.23v. If you leave it overnight you very well may end up coming back to an overcharged battery that is not only holding reduced capacity from the damage, but is a safety risk as well. I even go so far as to have special hobby chargers with perfect algorithms to charge my loose lithium ion cells for my flashlights!

Thanks for the info! I hear so much conflicting info that I had no idea what to believe.

It is extra windy here today and I keep thinking I hear the FedEx truck. I'm going to go crazy before 3.

I can't even hear the trucks. The worst thing is that our street closes from 11 AM to 3:30 PM, so the FedEx guy usually has to park blocks away to deliver the item.

Delivered

I'm at work. Left a note for the FedEx dude to leave it on my Porch.

Po wil phone is all alone, just waiting to be let in to it's new home. Hopefully noone is running around town snagging up all the little Incredibles left on peoples doorsteps today.

Picked it up at lunch at the FedEx Kinko's. I was initially nervous about shipping to a "Hold At" center but it worked out perfectly. Thanks FedEx!

Im in the same boat as DominoHop tons of construction going on at my apartment... jumping up everytime I hear a stupid truck. To make it better I have an entirely unrelated package coming from UPS today...so Im having a race =D

Got mine an hour ago. Been up since 9am waiting. Usually sleep til noon :)

AHHHH, they delievered it while i'm at work... This is even worse now knowing that it's sitting at home all alone until i get off work! 2hrs to go, this is going to suck!

Mine just got delivered, though I wont see it for at least 8 more days. Its at my house in WI and im stuck in a hotel in PA until my truck is repaired. The agony of it sitting ther without me is going to kill me. I have already had to tell my wife 3 times that she cannot activate it on her line just until I get home. We'll see if that happens....lol.

Hope someone was at home to sign for it. Otherwise, it's headed back to the FedEx warehouse for the night.

got mine this morning. The nice receptionist brought the package over and dropped it off at my desk. I was so excited running over to the desk to unbox it, etc, but my **** coworkers already beat me to it, unboxed my phone, and stuck a nexus one inside. You cant imagine how confused i was for a brief moment. I wanted to kill.

lol :D
