With the new leak of a case showing up to Verizon stores today, looks as though Verizon could grab this phone on March 25th. That would be unheard for Verizon, and I hope they do. I wouldn't mind picking this phone up.
There will be a number of us here putting it though it's paces before June.. or at least I hope we are. You should be able to weigh what's posted against your needs/desires before you make a decision. My contract was up early Nov. last. I've been waiting for the 2014 HTC offering since then.
More and more I am thinking what the hell and go for this anyway with the battery I should be good to go all day and then just charge over night.
With the DNA I have gotten so use to just putting it on the charging pad when at home and snatching it up on the way out the door. Nice being able to just grab it in a dark room too not fumbling with unplugging from a cord. Yes it has spoiled me. I have a watch that charges that way too.
Wireless charging is so very handy... agreed. I hate the wires and the mess of plugging the phone in etc. Still not a deal breaker but I do like wireless. I think the battery will be fine. I'm accustomed to limping by on a 1620mAh stock battery with my Rezound. Anything would be an improvement lol.
Look like Verizon inked a deal with HTC to deliver exclusively for 2wks starting on March 25th @1pm EST. HTC One (M8) Gratz Big Red Folks! Looks like us slubs will have to wait a couple weeks. (I'm Cool with that)
Yeah, kinda sucks, but on the flip side Sprint had the HTC One right away so I guess it's Verizon's turn. I'll be waiting with you lol... Mind if we share a corner?

In title and article it talks of retail exclusive. I wonder if AT&T will be selling it online. They seem to be gearing up for a March 25th launch of some sort too.
Verizon is always dead last to get a release. Don't hate on them. Naturally I'm doing back flips being I'm with big red. I get the feeling that HTC is all about getting this phone out in the public's hand. If they struck a special deal with big red I bet it isn't for any length of time. To announce and release on the same day is uncommon for HTC. To announce both in Europe and USA the same time is not common. I think they are after shock and awe. ... and why not. It's going to be their 2014 flagship. And if it's going to influence users of the One to upgrade... it's going to be special.
Dropping by the local BEST BUY on Tuesday anyway to check out the working demo of the SAMSUNG GS5,so,should the reports of availability on 3/25/14 hold up,might as well take a look @ the latest incarnation of the ONE.
Quite pleased w/what I'm using ATM,but,I do have a "JUMP" coming up on 3/31 ,burning a hole in my pocket,so..........
Had the ONE for 6 months & liked everything but a nasty B/T-Call quality issue (which affected a small percentage of T-Mobile handsets) & couldn't get any satisfaction w/HTC at the time.
I'd definitely give 'em another shot,& buy/try in-store 1st vs on-line purchase.
Yeah,I've developed quite a nasty NEW PHONE Habit in the past year (six devices in the last 11 months, seven counting the tablet).Been a grand total of 46 DAYS since the last "SLIP" (G-FLEX).:congrats::smokin:
Would be cool to hear of solid plans on a MAX version from the get-go.
Just as marctronixx,I've become a fan of the larger-screened phones.
Unless you're a fan of the NEXUS/total stock ANDROID experience,I'd skip the GPE variety.I had,for a brief time, the GPE variant of the MOTO G & became bored w/it almost immediately.
Also, depending on which carrier you're with, the radios may not be fully compatible w/a GPE phone.Just something to look into before opting for any GPE phone.

I like the simplicity of the notifications menu on stock. I hate what Samsung does and HTC from what I remember wasn't much better (I had the one for a bit around its launch).

I ordered a Nexus today too just in case.
^^^^
Was gonna mention this, but,I figured you were eyeing it anyway.
For the stock experience, the NEXUS 5 is the best bang-for-the buck, unless you're just a fan of the HTC hardware.
If that's the case, then holding out for the GPE version is the way to go,even though it'll take a bigger bite out of the wallet.
Only time will tell if they even release a GPE for this, I just want to see the darn thing period.
Only 2 days left, I will absolutely be going into a Verizon store Tuesday afternoon to take a look at one of these. Starting to get butterflies in my stomach, and I know I won't be able to get one for a while.

The GOOGLE PLAY STORE has quite a few devices to choose from already, definitely anyone's guess when/if a GPE will see the light of day, other than a tweet from evleaks mentioning it a while back.
