Root [MetroPCS] [Recovery] [Loki] CWM v6.0.4.6

Hi I installed this on the T Mobile F6 and it is working but I was wondering when I boot to recovery when I select reboot it says "Warning this may flash your stock rooted ROM" it gives me three options Yes | No and +++go back ++++ when I select go back it reboots but it doesn't flash I was wondering if it would be safe to flash the stock rooted ROM as I have read that some CWM can brick the device?

Trying to get a CWM to work on a friend's phone. How do you boot into this recovery without factory resetting your phone?

Just hit the back botton n it wll reboot with no problens. If u hit yes it may brake stock factory recovery. N u will hang in a loop. If u hit no it wll flash this CMRecovery but backup restore would not wrk. So u stuck. N it could do a factory reset N will hav to start from scratch. With KDZ SO JUST HIT BACKBOTTON N UR FINE.

So there's no way to boot into it while starting up the phone? Seems like it would be hard to fix a soft brick that way.
Shut off the phone then hold volume down and power till you get to the factory reset screen. From there press power to confirm and it'll boot into CWM.

Does it factory reset before or after you access the CWM? If it's after the fact wouldn't you be able to make a backup and counter the factory reset?

Then it would carry out the factory reset when it boots into android I presume. So anything done from a power and volume down would just get overwritten when it actually boots into the phone?

When you press volume down and power it brings up a prompt. On the second confirm it wipes /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by name/userdata before the recovery boot image is even loaded

So, if it factory resets before the recovery is booted up would loading a backup in the recovery counter the factory reset?

Also, has the recovery listed in SDCard Memory Hack fixed the factory reset issue?

didnt you ask this question somewhere else? no it will not counter it. if you are useing this recovery, a volume-down and power will factory reset you device. end of story. no countering it. if you use the sdcard memory hack, you will not have that problem, but you have to follow the steps in the guide.

I am only asking it because a normal recovery shouldn't factory reset your phone. A recovery should be able to be booted into without needing an adb backwards method.

we dont have a "normal" recovery. lge ****** us with that. (among other things) and you dont need adb.

I browsed through the thread. These are most up-to-date links? And, the APK in the first link will install the CWM in the second link? It's pretty straightforward?

Here is the latest. its still beta in my opinion but it will download the latest recovery and install it for you

[Heh, :o , I must have read that at least 10 times!]

EDIT: Now, I just need to use "OTA Rootkeeper" and update to 12B. Install CWM. Install ROM.
