HTC DROID Eris OS 2.1v3 download

Forgive me for not reading each page...every time I look up another 50 posts are here!

Does anyone else believe the 2.1v3 leak has improved on the vibration function? I don't THINK I'm crazy but it was like night and day for myself. If no one else has thought this then I just might be dreaming...anyone?

I haven't had a chance to check that, but I HOPE it's true!

Just some observations:
--I'm not sure what the Yahoo fix was supposed to be, but you still have to manually set up that account.
--Don't forget to turn off animations. I was wondering why things seemed to have taken a slow down between v2 and v3 and that was it.
--On phone reboot, I have to click to agree to use Market each time. Not a big deal to me.
--I went into market after fresh install of v3 and my apps were there. I exited and came back in and the market synced to my newly installed apps so previously installed apps from v2 were gone.

I tried it and it seemed stronger to me but that could just be pure placebo. The only way for me to really know is to put it on vibrate and see if I feel alerts coming through when in my side holster.

For comcast on 2.1v3
Open mail from the all programs screen
once mail opens
Menu->More->New Account
Add your email address
Select Manual Setup
change the pop server to mail.comcast.net
Select Next
change the smtp server to smtp.comcast.net
Select Next
Change account display name if you want (optional)
Select Finish

I don't guarantee that will work, but it did for me...:D

Thanks Bill :D I owe you a Corona :)

anyone having problems with the HTC Clock/Weather widget? My weather doesnt seem to be working. It just has the clock with a "My Location" under it, but the location never seems to fill out, thus the weather never shows up.

am i the only one? i read through about 7 pages of this thread without seeing anything, and i couldnt read anymore so i just decided to post instead haha

thanks again caddy for the software drop, i was starting to get sick of all the problems i was having with v2

So far I haven't had trouble with the HTC weather widget  I still prefer the weather bug setup, so I use that.

Same thing here. I just said 'F' it though. I never paid any attention to it. But now that you brought it up, I'd like to see how to fix it.

I did not have to manually set up my wifes yahoo account (she is running leak v3, mine is rooted) , all i had to do was shut wifi off ( this does matter) and It set it self up with the new (well not that new cuz it worked on v2 also) android imap settings

Did not look through everything, looks like no live wallpapers, this is the first leak I've installed, Caddyman rocks. Not an issue about the wallpapers just making sure I am using everything function I can just for fun.

Live wallpapers are disabled on the Eris, slows the phone down too much. Only those with a Rooted Eris can enable LWP.

Not yet. There's a 'chance' we'll be able to do it by this weekend.

Just curious where you got that from because I'm very interested in rooting. Last I saw was that the guy who rooted the Desire and Legend said that it wasn't looking good for the Eris Leaks. Not arguing just wondering if I missed something.

I thought the tutorial stated that that stuff all gets wiped out with the installation and has to be saved and then retrieved after it's done.

I think that is just a precaution. I backed up for all 3 leaks but never had to restore anything but apps. My photos, music and videos stayed on the card every time.

As a noob would you recommend that I do the 2.1 v3 update or should I go the 2.1 root way? Does root give a novice like myself any real advantages?

I would go to the Root subforum and read the Q&A if I were you. The main advantage I see for rooting at this point is the ability to go back to 1.5 if you need to. But I will also say that I have been very happy with 2.1 bugs and all. I had worse bugs on 1.5 (definitely in the minority on that though).
