HTC DROID Eris OS 2.1v3 download

Im not familiar with TouchDown... But basically, in 2.1, if you add an active exchange account to your phone and that active exchange account is secure, android wont let you add the account unless you add a new password to your phone. So, when i first synced my work mail with the new 2.1 leak, i had the eris lock screen, the active exchange password, AND my pattern lock.

I installed LockPicker and it got rid of the exchange server password requirement.
 
Ok I have a little concern over the phone dropping audio issue. I was all set to make the move from 1.5 to the new leak but now I might wait. Who has gone from 1.5 to the new leak and have you experienced the audio issues. As both Caddy and OTD have said it could be hardware awakened by the update. If that is truly the case I think I would be better staying with 1.5.
 
Ever since I updated to v1 to v2 and to v3 I still continue to have my phone just stop working. Everything like texting works but when trying to make a call they cant hear me i cant hear them. Only gets fixed by removing the battery. Good thing I text more then i talk.
 
as for the wifi issue, i noticed it wont auto connect like it use to or at least it didn't for me. i had to go into wifi settings and manually connect from there even with my router open. usually it would just say "AVAILABLE WIFI NETWORK" etc
 
My phone has the audio dropout issue. I am trying to duplicate the fault. How have you guys been able to duplicate it? It seems pretty random to me but maybe not.

FYI, saw several people posting on this issue and wanted to mention that I also have this intermittent problem...and I'm still on 1.5.

So go figure
 
i know this is paranoid at its best, but is there a chance that the leak has hidden coding to take personal information and send it back to the maker? just asking before i take the final step.

invasion of privacy act, that's a law suit right there and htc doesn't want another, or even verizon at that matter. :O you would have to agree to the acceptance if there was a data transmission sending personal info to make it legal. just like google location ToS/U

If you are still on 1.5 I would definitely take the phone back and have it replaced. That would fully be covered under warranty.
 
quick question, still on 1.5 but going to flash to v3. can someone please check the market for me to see if Davis Drug Guide is there? Was a pretty expensive ($50) app that I use a lot but could live without until the OTA i guess. Thanks!

so are the leaks signed by HTC / Verizon? couldnt someone else edit the file afterwards with their code and then upload the file to us? far fetch i know but just wondering

I don't see it. I even tried scanning the QR code at Androlib and it didn't come up. Sorry

lol geeze you are paranoid, i'm a firm believer in this file being HTC/VERIZON signed. Don't worry my friend, the government isn't coming to get you for downloading this file.

If that was possible, we'd all have root immediately. So no, someone can't do that. The leaks are signed by HTC, and our phones won't install firmware that isn't. It's possible on rooted ROMs, though.

Have you tried Epocrates? It is available free for v2.1 and is a pretty good quick ref for your pharmacy needs...

thanks for the response. im just making sure, since alot of personal information are on this phone. i just rebooted with the update installed. full review coming soon.

Sweet! I used Epocrates when I had an iPhone but had to switch to Davis Drug Guide when I went Android because it was not available on 1.5. Thanks for the info, just sealed the deal, I'm moving on up...

Anyone having the silent call / no sound bug, please post a report of what you did immediately before the bug appeared in this thread:

I'm trying to find a replicable way of triggering it, because it just seems completely random right now. If we can replicate it reliably, then someone might have a shot at fixing it, or we might be able to avoid triggering it in the first place.
