Root [MetroPCS] Confused which root method to use for 12B. ajamie234 vs nirhazine

I just got my notification on my phone that the new update is downloaded and ready to install.

I was rooted on the old firmware using Trevor old method.

I have been looking at the best method to install this update and root the phone again. It looks like there are two threads that are able to root 12b.

So reading the sticky it looks like ajamie234 removed his method because of too many failures? Does this mean that taking the update from Metro will make my phone unrootable?

Does that mean Nirhazine method is the only way? Is this method just flashing a rooted stock 12b rom?

ajamie234's method was a bit confusing, and it would result in quite a few people failing to root there devices.

Nirhazine's method uses a pre-rooted rom I build. So, you have to have a rooted phone with CWM on another firmware to use it anyways.

If you know how to root it by using framaroot and kingoroot, you can root it. If you can't try using the other method and just update into it.

Can I just boot into CWM and just flash the rooted rom? I am not sure what recovery is included with Trevor saferoot method. Seems I need to click on lte2recoery.apk to get into recovery. With this rom will I be able to do Pressy4Pie's SDCard Mod?

You must be rooted before flash a rom.
I think you cannot use Pressy4Pie's SDCard Mod with that rom because that mod requires factory reset and that rom says do not factory reset.
I am using Pressy4Pie's SDCard Mod on firmware i and works very well.

Ok do you still get that notification that a firmware is available and ready to install? It's kind of annoying to have to always click install later to use my phone. So if you use Pressy's mod then you will see the update screen each time you open up your phone?
