Root [MetroPCS] Tethering for MPCS.F6....!!! All Roms **VIDEO for stock only** UPDATED 12-02-14

I recommend "Ultimate User Agent Switcher, URL sniffer" and use this string "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/34.0.1847.114 Safari/537.36"

[I can see this is going to be a slow, painful, step-by-step process...:( ]

I input the string in "My User Agent list", with FLAG==MyBot and NAME==Android, clicked "Add New" and then clicked on SAVE. Finally, clicked "Activate Now". [There are so many things that can go wrong here]

"Open A.T TASK find System/bin/Hotspot click on it and KILL": Do you do this after "Start Tethering" or before?

I can see laptop connect notification, but on the PC, "No internet access"; and, I can't connect to any web sites.
 
Remember to grant access of ur comp.
On the top left of ur notifications is a red shield
Click on it it wll take u to wifi.tether app
U wll see ur comp. Check yhe empy box
That would allow you to connect
 
I would love to make a video but right now i hav 2 pc n a mac updating. Plus laptop of my own im wrking on proTools editinh some tracks n a vid. It will be late if i upload a vid

Ok, thx. I finally have gotten connected. I can access some web sites. But, I get the "MetroPCS" site on others? I tried to follow "Trevor Philips" post; see my response; Obviously, it's not configured properly yet.

If you have this working, could you use the "Export/Import" button to Export your settings? Maybe attach the "export" so I can try that? I'm still trying to use Chrome. but am getting the "MetoPCS" site on some sites.

I thank you for all your time and effort! I am using "Ultimate User Agent Switcher" with "Internet Explorer 9" selected. Finally, I am able to browse all kinds of web sites [w/o getting the "MetroPCS" site]. I don't understand why this setting works with Chrome instead of "Default: Current Chrome" which did not work? Maybe someone can shed some light here? [I never used the "IEUA9.reg" fix]

The IEUA9.reg fix its only for internet Xplorer.
Remember the Chrome still 1 branch of android google. N they collect companies useragent n just put it on their servers. . So its our phone actual UserAgent the we are stck with, its many ways to change it. But Evry phone has different way to do so.....so we are stuck!"" some of u'"

EDIT: I have been trying to figure out how to configure "Android Tuner > Task Manager to display "System/bin/hostapd" by default. i.e. So, I don't have to search for it each time. Or, is it possible to have it "auto-killed" each time it appears?

What kind of configuration did you have to do? Android? And, Windows? And, did you have to use Android Tuner Task Manager to "kill" anything?

EDIT: Were you able to enable encryption using this app?


EDIT2: Where did this specific tethering process originate? XDA?
