Root [DISCONTINUED] SimplicityXL {Updated 5/17/14}

Did you change all the settings I listed above? Chevans should work too, but it's a little more complicated so you could have messed something up.
 
The long awaited 2.0.0 is now released, just a few under the hood changes and bug fixes as well as a new App by death2all that allows you to control your kernel Clock and other Tweaks. Download is available via OTA and full zips are also in thread. Remember dont wipe system if your are installing the update via OTA. Wiping data is optional. That's it for now guys schedule is becoming more busy right now so no more updates unless it's bug fixes. We should be on Kitkat within a month and a half so just sit back have a beer and chill with simplicity until the real thing comes along from LG;)

OK so I flashed the ROM update after formating data and cache. Everything went smoothly except I accidentally chose the lg ui (ewww)in the aroma updater. I didn't notice of my mistake till AFTER flashing. So I tried to first flash my backup of the prior simplicity update but it just wouldn't work. It stays stuck at the lg boot screen. Does that have anything to do with the kernal? So none of my backups will work anymore? Just want to make sure. I still managed to reflash the update and worked anyways.

Yes this is because of the new kernel/zv5 bootloader
 
Doesn't matter whether I wipe data/reset and clear cache... Or do it on top of my 1.2...but 2.0 causes constant UI force close "Sorry!"s instantly back to back spitfire...any ideas, Chevan?

What theme did you choose?

nvm found the issue, statusbar will FC if you choosed the kitkat with am/pm theme. problem fixed in OTA, Full rom zip is currently uploading. If you choose that option during the OTA you can either advance restore only "system.img" of your last backup for 1.0.6 and then flash the ota again but select kitkat with no am/pm theme or you can redownload the new full ROM zip when uploaded and then select kitkat with am/pm theme if you'd like.

That shouldn't affect it. The swap should still work, formatting /cache would have wiped the old swap.img though.

If you wipe cache the swap.img will be erased and it wont affect anything as it should regenerate on boot. The new zip is in the thread so downloa dit and flash it to fix the issue but before you do that check your pm i msg'd you.

I chose the kit kat with am & pm and the same thing happened to me. (system ui force close) Then I tried to restore the backup I made before I flashed 2.0 and I'm stuck at the lg screen. Wipe/factory reset Then maybe a stupid thing to do but I cleaned for new rom and same thing. I can get into phils recovery. If I flash the full rom version no am pm I should be able to boot? Is the full rom zip uploaded? Do I look for the link on page 1? Thanks Chev. (I'll make another donation if you get me out of this one :rolleyes:
 
YOU AND YOUR ROM ROCK!!! I have used kit kat plenty and your rom puts it to shame. At first I was disappointed it didn't upgrade to kit kat as some roms will do that but this is better than kit kat anyway! I don't have allot to donate but I will donate what I can! Finally someone looking out for the little guy instead of catering to super smart phones like they need that much attention!
