I still am unable to root my phone. I just cant figure what to do. Can you please help?

successfully. [sigh] "Settings -> About Phone -> Software Information -> MS50010i"

Root successful! Root Checker Pro reports root and busybox R good!

EDIT: After a successful root, what happens to root if I let the phone update system to "MS50012B"?

Use the recovery in the next link. Do not use the button combo or it will wipe data. Use an app, I use QuickBoot.

Use OTA Root keeper, hit temporary unroot and then update to 12b through ota(in settings) , once in 12b, restore root by opening OTA root keeper

Could you clarify this a little? There are two links in above thread:

What is the button combo? And, how does "Quickboot" figure in here?

guessing its because you are on 12b

I think there are a number of us in this situation, http://androidforums.com/metropcs-o...oot/840549-most-stable-root-method-12b-4.html; you had a system update to 12b. You go back to 10i [as in this thread]. You root [as in this thread].

Now, you use "Voodoo OTA RootKeeper" to "root backup" and "temporarily unroot". Now, if you can't get the phone to do that System Update to 12b again, what do you do? Use a 12b KDZ? Or, what?

OTA Rootkeeper will not work on 10i rooted to 12b update if you have CWM recovery installed. You will get stuck in a recovery loop and the only way back is to use LGMST to reinstall the unrooted 12b. Then go back to 10i reroot and flash the rooted 12b rom from CWM.

I have rooted 10i and lte2 installed. Is lte2 = CWM? Or I need to install another recovery?

Yes, the lte2 app will install a version of cwm. You need to download and install the f6Utilities2.app, this app has an option to restore the stock recovery. Restore the stock recovery if you already installed cam, then do the steps in regards to OTA Rootkeeper, take the update, then reinstall su app from OTA after the upgrade finishes.

Hi I can't seem to get the downgrade process to work for me. I'm far from a noob I have at least 50 devices rooted under my belt. When I'm done setting up kdz and click on launch software update it starts to extract the files the says library failed or something like that (don't have my computer in front of me at the moment) my phone was in download mode and connected. I have the right files what am I missing???

Guessing you're on 12b, follow all the instructions step by step here

Try re- download the KDZ it might be broken.

I actually did that that this morning still nothing I'm lost right now

I even deleted all the files before I re downloaded them
