Space-time? Are they 'really' connected?

Do we live in a three or four dimensional world? Do we have height, width, and breadth? But what if the object in question only lived for a moment in time? Would we ever perceive it? Wouldn't we need then.. to factor in time to adequately describe our surroundings and how we see and interact with said object?
