Root [ROOT] Towelroot method (method does not work for T-Mobile or Verizon)

Very easy

Step 1.
Download this file and install (tick unknow source from settings/security)
https://www.towelroot.com/tr.apk

Step 2.
click "make it ra1n"

If you your device is reboot, it false, if not, your device is rooted.

Step 3.
Install supersu app from Chplay. Enjoy.

Just be wary that it has been mentioned by geohot that there is a chance that this might not work. There have been users that cannot seem to get past the reboot, even though their device is on the successfully rooted list.

did you try IORoot?

Checked http://towelroot.com, says it was good for all phones as of 6/3/14, but as we know, this isn't true for D851. If anyone gets any more news on this, please let us know. Thanks.

Also found out from someone on xda that Towelroot will not work on Verizon handsets, either. Will edit the title to reflect this, later.

It worked on the lg optimus zone 2 from Verizon ?

For some reason people are having issues with the G3. I just know what I'm hearing in the Towelroot thread on xda. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2791091

Sprint users are having spotty results, too. Some claim it works, some say otherwise. Not adding Sprint to the non-working list until I can confirm it truly doesn't work.

EDIT: Checked the xda thread. D855 (AT&T) confirmed to be working.

Just got my new AT&T G3 and am almost ready to pull the trigger on this TowellRoot, but....want to know if anyone could confirm using this method as of lately? This is the D850. Thanks

Confirmed working on LG D415 T-Mobile variant as well.

But not on e firmware, sadly. We have to downgrade to c firmware to do it.
