Wow...really? I still have a 11 days left for my trial and I can't believe htc/verizon didn't think about the nagging signup shit. Can't wait for the phone to be rooted.
I never opened or "installed" it, so of course, I don't get any nags, but couldn't you do a reset? Won't that take you back to before you installed City ID?

Not going to pay for it. It's just a database of numbers. Where's the recurring fee come from?
Has anyone actually seen nag screens yet? I opened it up once or twice because I didn't know what it was -- I didn't know it was a subscription app until I read this thread.
I agree that it's pretty stupid to include such a useless app installed as a default, but I've yet to see a nag screen from it. For all we know, you could decline it once and that would be the end of it.
I don't have the nag screens yet, and I didn't "start" the program. I know it was pre-installed, but the only reason I looked into it was I run task killer and like to keep my running apps at a minimum(ocd thing) and wondered why it is always there even though I kill it. My wife had this preinstalled on her ENV3 and at the end of the trial it gave the option to subscribe or not, and it didn't keep bothering her after that. I genuinely can't understand why anyone would care about an app like this. Complete waste of space. VZW must get a nice cut of that monthly fee though.
So wait, is this thing going to continue to nag me after the trial period?
Has anyone actually seen nag screens yet?

I e-mailed the company that makes City ID over the weekend. They said that, after 15 days, you can completely disable the nagging. I also made it very clear to them how annoying their advertising method is and just how sure I am that they'll never receive a dime from me.

Oh, and if you force stop the app and clear its data, it'll just restart when you next receive a call, and it'll reset the free trial counter to 15 days, so DON'T DO THAT.
