everytime i try to flash the zip it says abborted bad zip i have tried downloading it again idk what to do =[
well first check if you got philz recovery install.
then check the file size because sometimes the browser you download from gives up on downloading. make sure your following the directions correctly.

So, I just hit reboot on my phone and now it wont stop restarting... any idea how to stop it?

*problem resolved itself

The best way to ensure that your download is successful is to check the md5 checksum.

To do so, you will need a checksum utility. If you are comfortable using Windows Command Prompt, this one will do the job.

Download Microsoft File Checksum Integrity Verifier from Official Microsoft Download Center

To confirm if your download for the 6/20 build of CM is correct, execute the downloaded fciv utility and your output should match the checksum value below. If the checsum values do not match, you will need to resolve your issues with downloading CM.

If you have questions about the utility, see the included ReadMe.

@dadcup:

Is there a chance that you will post the source for this, or at least the phone-specific parts? I'm thinking about trying my hand with some commits for some of the CM apps, and this is the only working distro for my phone (and a gorgeous one, that I am quite happy with!) That way I can self-build and see what I broke before I commit a change. ;)

So the problem has returned. From time to time my wifi won't work (it gets stuck saying something like "turning on wifi") so I restart my phone. More often then not when I restart my phone it will keep restarting over and over until finally it stops. Unfortunately sometimes when it stops restarting the wifi still won't be working. Anyone else having this problem?

It's a very common problem on cm11 based roms. Well for our phone anyways. There's no fix for it to hat I know of.

Well, not sure if anyone else is having this problem, but currently I am unable to connect to the mobile network. Which is very weird because when I first flashed this rom it was working just fine.

Anyhow, I looked at the mobile settings and there is nothing listed in the Access Point Names (APN), and as for the Network operators, I get an error when searching for networks. Even selecting the "choose automatically" gives the me the message, "can't connect to this network right now. Try again later."

If anyone has any idea on how to fix this problem, please let me know. I'll continue to search for a solution, but if I'm not able to find one then I will probably just need to flash this rom again to see if that fixes the problem.

Also, one other thing, has anyone found a solution to getting WiFi calling to work with this rom? I tried checking in the dialer settings as one of the posts mentioned above; however, I was unable to adjust anything in order to get the WiFi calling function to work. So if anyone has a solution to this as well, I'd loved to know.

Thanks in advance to anyone who is able to help. ^_^

Just to update, I never messed with it any further. I am just going the stock (but rooted) route for the time being. But as I was going through my list of apps with Titanium Backup and freezing bloatware, I did come across an app called "Wi-Fi Calling 4.1.2-T599NUVAMD4", maybe you could freeze that from stock and copy it over to CM and get it working? And/or, you may also need to do the same with the stock phone app?

I'm just throwing an idea out there, perhaps someone with more knowledge (or OP) can chime in if they think that may work or not.

For the record, I never did try as OP suggested a few posts up in response to my original query about wifi calling, perhaps going that route may yield better results.

The no mobile network is also a common/random problem with cm11 that d no solution for it since it doesn't always happen. The main solution though I guess is to reboot your phone.

Holy Christ, I am pretty good at computers, but I can't even figure out how to download the needed files from the OP, without running either into a bunch of garbage, or supplying some social media login (which I am not going to do). Are there no better file hosting options? What a bunch of crap!

lol well it's actually pretty simple. The only one you wanna click is download ( not priority download). Also 4shared requires you have an account before you can download anything. The social media stuff is optional .

I tried rebooting...several times, still no dice, lol. Hm, guess I might just need to backup my data and reinstall the rom again.

Alright, I decided to go ahead and get on board with the CM goodness. :)

Unfortunately, I am running into issues trying to get WiFi tether to work, as described in further detail in this thread.

My question is, do you suspect this problem lie in the wifi drivers used to compile this version of CM (in which case maybe dadcup or someone in this thread can help) or is this a problem with T-Mobile doing some kind of provisioning on their network?

My research continues; in the meantime if anyone has any insight (or was able to get wifi tether working for this phone via ANY method) please reply in my other linked thread above.

To the people following along on the wifi calling issue: now that I have installed CM, I may try and figure that out later. But wifi tethering is more of a priority for me to figure out personally, so I will be working on that first.

Both WiFi and Bluetooth Tethering work fine with for me out any special tricks. I am running on Ultra Mobile cellular, but they are just a MSO of T-Mobile, so I do not think that should make a difference.

To enable Tethering I go into Settings -> Wireless & networks -> more -> Tethering & portable hotspot -> Portable WiFi hotspot and Set up Wi-Fi hotspot.

I guess I have been lucky in avoiding the problems that others report. But, I do strongly believe in a full reset of the phone prior to installation of any ROM following these steps.

1) Boot the phone into recovery. The developer (dadcup) strongly recommends you use his build of Philz Touch Recovery. (See first post in thread)
From Philz Touch, perform the following steps
2) Wipe Data/Factory Reset
3) Wipe Cache Partition
4) Mounts and Storage -> format /system
5) Advanced -> Wipe Dalvik Cache
6) Proceed with fresh install of ROM (Install Zip)

I know others here say only step one and two are necessary, but completing all 6 steps has always brought me success in avoiding the problems reported here, and only takes a couple of extra minutes.

Good luck.

I agree with you insofar as performing a thorough clearing of data when installing a new ROM. I have done so as well, and seem to be having no problems thus far that others have reported with flaky wifi, etc. Although I have only been using CM about a day so far.

As far as my tethering issue, I believe it is related to KitKat. Are you using the 4.4 version of this CM or the 4.3 JB version? I am using 4.4.

I am getting ready to post the solution I just worked out in my other thread (linked above). I am posting this from my laptop via tether in fact.

I am on the cm-11-20140620-unofficial-codinalte.zip build, 4.4.4 KitKat.

Hmm, that's weird that's what I am on, too. I suppose I could have messed something up by installing / using Android Wifi Tether. But you are saying you never had to go through any of the setting changes I outlined in the solution I eventually figured out in this post (basically, adding "dun" to "APN type")?
