Root (Port) Behold 2 1.6 ( No Twiz w/ Busybox & Rooted Kernel )

I do not know if anyone else are having these problems, but i am, and I do not know if there is a fix for them.

I have tried rebooting the phone a couple times and still have the problems. I have the latest Kernel for Warhead, and i have gotten rid of Home ++ and I am currently using Advance launcher.

The first problem is proximity sensor is not working during calls. I also have received a couple of force closes when using the phone feature esp after receiving a call while on another call, switching over to the second call worked fine, but when i switched back got a force close and the first call was dropped.

The the other issue I have had which others have been having are the sleep mode not going to sleep and then when putting the phone into locked feature and coming back on wifi has to be reconnected each time this happens. Again I have reset the phone multiple times, but still have these small issues.

BH-Man I still believe this is a phenomenal build and is much better than stock 1.5. Thanks for all you do and any incite you or others have on my problems would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Draigon

Good question!

I start the flashing process, the phone is detected and Odin says all is good, I start the bootloader file and it just sits there. It does nothing else. I waited an hour before I gave up, twice!

try another USB port. had the same problem and switching ports worked.

I finally made it work!

I don't know how I made it work, but, for some reason, it just worked this time.

Anyways... I've got it up and running and, no offense to BH_Man... I can't stand the skin/theme on the phone. How do I make it revert to the default Android skin/theme?

Before flashing, go to phone/settings/application/development & make sure usb is set for debugging mode.
If you are flashing DOTS:

Open Up ODIN Multi Downloader & CHECK DEBUG OPTION & PDA Format (FOR DOTS ONLY)
Click the OPS button and choose Behold2_partition.ops
Click the BOOT button and choose the BOOT md5 file, You will get error message" invalid image...," but ignore it. Do the same for the Phone & PDA files.
Turn off Phone.
Plug phone into USB.
Put phone in download mode (HOLD DOWN Vol Down + OK + END Button UNTIL DOWNLOADING DISPLAYS)
Wait till detected and press START.

SOME PEOPLE HAVE HAD TO FLASH EACH FILE SEPARATELY. OPS/BOOT THEN OPS/PHONE THEN OPS/PDA

IF DOING SEPARATELY, WAIT UNTIL ODIN SAYS PASSED. SCREEN WILL STILL BE STUCK ON BEHOLD SCREEN. JUST REMOVE BATTERY, WAIT A COUPLE OF MINUTES & FLASH NEXT ITEM. SAME THING WILL HAPPEN WITH SECOND ITEM. WHEN FLASHING PDA, IT WILL REBOOT PROPERLY.

If you are flashing WARHEADS:

Open Up ODIN Multi Downloader
Click the OPS button and choose Behold2_partition.ops
Click the PDA button and choose the PDA md5 file, You will get error message" invalid image...," but ignore it.

Turn off Phone.
Plug phone into USB.
Put phone in download mode (HOLD DOWN Vol Down + OK + END Button UNTIL DOWNLOADING DISPLAYS)
Wait till detected and press START.

THEN FOLLOW DIRECTIONS STATED ON THE FIRST PAGE OF THIS THREAD.
ENJOY THE ROMS.

i've been trying to figure it out for soooooo long, lol! thank goodness i read all 500 replies to this forum && thank you BH_MAN! this thing is so cool. i feel so tech savvy :] lol:p

Ok.. the first time I tried the above instructions it worked! I just flashed warheads onto my wifes phone, followed the instructions exactly, but the menu still refreshes! I have tried reflashing, rebooting, I have even flashed back to stock, then reflashed up to warheads, all with no luck. My phone has really become a powerhouse thanks to BH_Man. I can hardley wait for the next update!! Thanks for any help!!

to eliminate menu from refreshing. try using a process manager
ang kill home++ then press home it should reload. works for me

what lol, recovery is where factory reset is located, it's a feature of "recovery"!!!

@paul89 just a question paul, cause sometimes you are really high and mighty when "helping" members. i mean are you trying to be a prick? cause sometimes you come off like a bit of a chode. laughing at people for asking questions when you don't know everything yourself is, well...foolish. not everyone is as knowledgeable as you my friend. it wouldn't hurt to tone down SOME of your responses. i know you do help most times, but c'mon man that was rude. just my two cents...sorry for adding to the clutter on this page!

Ok. I have to say, I'm happy with the battery life at 15-16 hrs from full charge to dead. It could be the better but I think it may be the battery. I may buy another battery and test it.

ok ok, I see your point, but I am only saying lol, lmao, or wtf in a "to be funny manner" I'm sorry but after being on here so long and seeing every bodies posts (some good questions, and others that have been answered countless times!!!) Unlike some people I will most of the time help people out even if it is an easy question that can be searched or even though the answer has been posted a few posts above there question! So yes, I believe it might have been a bit dickish, and I guess I have been a little to puffed up from all this "Android Knowledge" lol. But seriously if someone doesn't know the answer to the difference between recovery and factory restore, then they should not even be messing with their phones until they do a little research! Thats why I was like, "are you serious!" Blah Blah Blah, I know I rambled on haha.

A newbie questions about Warheads: It included the BOOTLOADER and PHONE, both are version T939UVJC2, and PDA. Are the BOOTLOADER and PHONE also modified by BH_Man or just the PDA?
How do I verify what is installed on my machine? The Baseband is UVJC2. Is that the PHONE or the BOOTLOADER or both?
The build number is DONUT BH_MAN NO TWIZ. Is there any way to know if this is Warheads or Dots or something else?
Thanks for all you help!

The baseband is either the bootloader or the phone I'm not sure which one. He only modified the PDA. You will know if you got Home++ as your default home:D

i could not agree more with this point!! you hit the nail right on the head! and i'm not trying to come down on you because i've been around this site long enough with you and so many others to know you are a great member! just don't want to harsh the newer less experienced members. but you are right, those that don't know the basics might not want to jump right into rooting, flashing roms and the like as they will find the info a tad over their heads.

Thank you for understanding! I thought for sure that you were gonna reply back with another message that would make me look bad lol. Glade to see you know what I'm talking about.

If you Have Flashed the New Recovery on any R* Galaxy rom's, the recovery is not going to work, as I've not added support for it yet..

Hybrid is a Bust... no point in making it unless we can get Dialer & Contacts working together...

Currently Me and Barak are bothing trying to build the AOSP from source..
I had mine booting, but would soft reboot due to service.jar issue's & Launcher..

Release For tonight, likely, but currently in Linux trying to build AOSP from the Behold2.

Sorry to sound noobish but I don't quite understand! What do you mean by "build the AOSP from source", which firmware is this?
I know what AOSP stands for, but how will this help?
