Root [MetroPCS] [ROM] KitKat 4.4.2 NEW BETA 4

If I want to add more apps from the alpha build can I do that myself by extracting the contents of the zip, placing the apps in the correct folders, and then zipping everything back up before I put it on my sdcard and flash it in recovery?

Thank you for putting quick memo back by the way

Yes you can do that but some of them may not work if they are not the odex version

I would download the big dump file, not the alpha

so that you can get the version of the files that are odex,

then copy the .apk and the .odex file into the same

folder of the new zip and then flash it

applications are either in app or priv-app

Hotspot doesn't seem to be working. USB tethering is working but requires 3rd party app on phone & pdanet on computer. Tried to usb tether through the native option that pops up when usb is connected no luck. Maybe this is because pdanet for windows is only compatible with foxfi or pdanet on android.

Bluetooth is also working as far as I can tell.

After getting kernel source from LG I fixed all compile errors and that's as far as I've gotten. Haven't had much time to work on anything so probably HK will have cm11 finished or LG will realease kk for usa before I get anywhere with this, but kk xperion would be the goal.

I very well may be wrong but I doubt there will ever be an official kitkat update for this phone. My other phone was one of Sprint's top phones when I got it, and was scheduled for ICS update but all they did was push the eta back then announce that it wouldn't get any more updates. The only update it got locked down the bootloader so tight that root is basically useless other than for free tethering. Sorry for going a bit off topic there but the point is that the f6 d500 will probably never see kitkat ota.

As far as LTE. What happens is, for me anyhow, the rom starts with no data. I simply pull the status bar down and enable data from there. I then edit the menu and untick the data, so I don't accidentally touch it because if you mess with data after that it goes to 3g/H. I have installed this ROM 5-6 times and happens every time.

*Edit* speedtest is def lte. I believe this is my highest test in any ROM.http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/a/922993943
This is my 2nd fav ROM. I can't wait for random reboots on CM11 to be fixed. I know it has low volume, but I text mostly, so the reboots is what makes it not my daily driver.

Hmm thats strange I don't have that issue

My only issue is that every time i reboot i need to redil the *#*#data#*#* to select LTE again, but i don't reboot often so im okay with that

Just rebooted to see if that happens with the way I do it, since its different from what y'all are doing and after reboot nothing changed. I had 4G LTE without having to do anything.
Hroark, you wondered how to do this automatically, and you can if you figure out how to set data on when installed instead of off.

Installed KK today. These are my issues:
- Cannot restore "Messages (SMS & MMS)" using Titanium Backup Pro, only got a message asking to make TB the default Message app, tried several times, even restarting phone first.
- Low sound level receiving a call on bluetooth.
This rom runs fast and stable.
Thanks

Any luck on this. No versions that I'm trying will install. Using X-Note rom, which did have it pre installed, but it's been Uninstalled. Never had an issue before, and it's the only apk that won't install
Copy apk to data or system.

This is kind of an urgent problem, but is anyone else having issues placing calls? The ring will go through but no audio through speaker or headset. Also, has anyone's data icons changed randomly? I previously had 4G for LTE now it's LG's "4G LTE" much like 10i and 12b ROMS.

Hi I'm new to the forum, but i no a little about droids..
