I think he removed it along with most of the other lg apps to give the rom more of an aosp look & feel. I installed the zip i referred to in my last post and have been running it with no issues.(I have the camera that works with this rom)
 
I've found A way to combine control in QuickRemote as far as the additions of DVD and Blu-Ray is this ROM, and Cable Box and the US TVs in @carolcityboyz build.prop edit.
Alternating between values GB and US in system/build.prop entry ro.build.target_country then rebooting, will store whatever device remotes you have set while using US or GB. Switch again and the other devices are available to set while your other regions remote settings are still there to use.
I use Jrummy build prop editor to make it relatively quick.

Seems that some control functionality is lost in Cable Box US remote (like DVR) after changing to GB again, but I can change to US to have those buttons. I don't know how available DVD/Blu-Ray controls play out when doing this as my DVD player is A GPX brand.

I looked up how to have two country values in build.prop but that won't work apparently.
Maybe merging the APK/ODEX provided in the two regions. And maybe the mock locations in developer options will make QuickRemote show at once all these devices to add.

That's one nice discovery.

If I put "US", I get TV+Cable box.
If I put "GB", I get TV+DVD+Blu Ray.
 
Can you test DVD/Blu-Ray to see if that's all stored along with Cable Box? And make sure that all the control buttons originally there for your set DVD/Blu-Ray device are still there after changing back to US for all Cable controls. You don't have to but it should be pretty cool.

This is A lot of work to get all devices and functionality. So I will try to merge the QuickRemote data that's on the phone into one APK later.

Here is a link for the stock Lg Home app and Home Selector. Place the apk and odex files in system/priv-app then reboot.

If you want to make custom app icons for the dock & home screen you will also need the stock Lg gallery app. Here is a link for that. This also needs to go in system/priv-app. You will also need to delete the gallery included in the rom. Look for gallery2.apk in either system/ app or system/priv-app

Yes anyone here can use the ROMS I upload any way they like, so you can use them as a base for you own ROM

There are certain things that would annoy me, like not giving me credit in your OP for the base ROM or if you changed one little thing and the posted it as your own ROM

If you put a little love into it and make it yours, than I am all good with that.


To be honest with yall, I usually never put out finished work, what I usually like to do is get a development community going and provide some useful stuff for them, like recoveries and base roms and stuff, and them just watch things take off.

Bottom line is we always need more developers, so if some one takes one of my ROMS and make something cool with it and learns a little doing so, I am happy
 
@hroark13, Thank you so much for your ROM(s). I tried both of them out,
I ended up staying with the KitKat version as the CM was way to
buggy. And missing so much that I came to like with LG.

I will run this one for a while and see how it holds up, Then I will let
you know what I find out. I did make a few adjustments and mods
of my own, Like the Google Launcher had to go for me. I use Nova
launcher for everything. and Since I paid for it just to support the
dev. I also removed a few other system apps and added my own.
I also use LG Optimus Lockscreen, That I also paid for to support
the dev. along with a few others I paid for, which is something I
rarely do. Anyhow, So far it runs very smooth. I would like to have
wifi calling back. but its no big deal. Overclocking would be nice too.
anyhow you look at it. Its a very good port over.

Tested it.

Devices DO get stored. With both US and GB entries I have 4 devices in my QuickRemote: TV, cable box, DVD and Blu ray.

Unfortunately I can not test the functionality, because I don't have neither cable box, nor DVD or Blu Ray players .
 
Got me there never had that issue so don't know sorry man ... But on another note anyone know how to port the g3 dialer to our phone ?

Well I never have a problem giving credit where it's due so I ain't gonna say That I made a rom when all I did was change some things around.

My bad man I'm a little bit dyslexic so I didn't realize I misspelled your name. If I find any more typos like that I'll fix em right away and I'll make sure I get it right from now on.

mm sadly i wont be able to mess with the phone and test this or cm anymore since college starts tomorrow my phone is already set up with the apps and alarms and calendar needed :c i cant afford to loose time installing and re setting everything over :/ i guess ill keep it as it is for now...
 
I'm having an issue with backup, I use the stock LG backup app, and I also use the go backup app for the same thing; I see the LG backup app has been removed and the problem I'm having with the go backup app is it doesn't read the sd card on this ROM, it says the ROM might deny read/write to sd card. SO it there a way I can fix the read/write to sd card, or can the stock LG backup app be uploaded? I would prefer the LG backup app.

damn im gonna have to go to stock 4.1.2 since earphones with mic dont work with this rom :/ damn it damn it damn it i got school tomorrow and im gonn have to set everything up
