Random Thought Thread

Fb is so not what it use to be! I'd rather be on google + or the forums!
I deleted facebook a little over a year ago. Never thought about opening it up again. The forums are better. At least here there aren't a bunch of post saying like my post or you warship the devil.

What's a facebook like do? Absolutely nothing.

It's been a lot longer than that for me, and I'll never go back.

Oh, that's where you're wrong! From an article in the LA Times:

A good example is what Facebook is doing with the "Like" button it has persuaded more than 2.5 million websites to display. The button ostensibly lets Facebook users recommend things they encounter online

Moody as far as the like button.on FB I am certain that's what they do to their users and I only comment because, though I don't have the link, I read an article the other day about the FB Messenger app that I find disturbing as I've been a user of the app for quite a while. It said that the app has in the permissions that it can access not only all of the standard contacts etc. but it has permissions for front facing and back camera and audio. So. I Checked the permissions..IT'S TRUE...*they can see n hear you. So I politely deleted it. Only to find that if you use the facebook app you have to have the messenger app Its not an option otherwise you can't send inbox messages to people on your friends list. Luckily I'm not crazy about taking to them often anyway

Okay, random thought: When will these actresses realize that they can't take nude selfies without their naughty bits being blasted across the internets? Not that I'm complaining...;) lol

(I realize the article is three years old, so it's possible that THAT particular method of facebook covertly breaching their users' privacy no longer applies. Corrections are graciously accepted, so let me know if this is incorrect!)

And that's why I use ghostery

These celebs are idiotic. I bet they don't even know their pictures upload to the cloud.

They should use these instead:

I believe the permissions are just so you can take pictures and send them, also with the microphone, I believe that is so you can place calls on messenger

Hopefully they aren't using it to violate privacy because I need it :/
