See Call Duration for Individual Calls

clipcity

Newbie
Is there a way to see the duration of each call I make or receive? I've played with all the settings and can't find anything. Do I need to install an app to see this or is it already preinstalled on my Note 3?

I forgot to mention I am running 4.3 NOT Kitkat. And all I see when I click the number I called is the time of the incoming/outgoing call but not time interval for how long that call lasted for.

Good. I am using Android 4.3 too. To get the call duration for each individual number, you click on that number, then you will be taken to a new screen which has the number you clicked on plus the call duration written in light blue underneath that number.

Great vid but it does not work on my Sprint N3 with 4.4.4.
I see the number and the time of the call but not duration.

Lateck,

That's interesting, I noticed another recent thread on this forum in which someone who is using the Sprint version of Android doesn't have access to enabling or disabling SMS / MMS delivery reports in the menu, where as others have that option.

While I don't know if this is the same case with you not being able to view your call duration, here is how to find out the call duration in unmodified Android 4.4:

1. Click on the clock icon at the bottom left of the phone/Dialler.
2. At the new screen which opens, click on the "Statistics" tab.
3. Click on any one of the contacts that are now displayed to show call duration.

Unfortunately mine still doesn't show the call duration. I see everything else from your video except the call duration. Which carrier do you have? I have Sprint.
This is frustrating. I've played with setting and done all I could think of but can't get it to show it. Let me know if you need me to send a pic or anything.

I have Everything Everywhere, a carrier in the United Kingdom.

For Sprint try going to a contact in your phone book that you know you have dialled, the open that contact and then press the menu key on your Android and then choose "History" from the menu options.

Does it show you the call duration now?

Nope when I did what you tried it gives me a log of all the calls/texts with that contact the time, but no actual call duration stats. Even when I click a specific call it just pulls up the time of the call with no duration.
Maybe I should go into sprint store to check it out?

There is no clock icon in the dialer/phone area. I checked every menu and button.

The same with the history, no info.

Lateck,

Wow, it seems like Sprint have modified Android to the extent of removing the delivery reports option and call duration info.

I doubt, but maybe you can ring them and ask them whether the option to see call duration is in another menu. If they say they've removed it then you'll have to install a Dialler application to see it. Stock, unmodified ROM of course.

Thanks for all the help on this forum. I'll just pop into a local Sprint store to see if they can help. If not I guess I could just install an app or something.

Just wanted to update everyone who also has the same issues I encountered. I went into a Sprint store and found out that call duration is no longer included on the Note III. Then again the rep sounded like an idiot and was probably on some substance so I also called in to confirm and indeed they took this feature off. So I guess I'll have to look for some apps. If anyone knows of any good ones please post them.

That's interesting. In only a few weeks I've found out that Sprint have modified the operating system to remove the Call Duration, Text Message status notifications and another issue that I can't remember the subject of. This doesn't seem like the best way to enable their customers to enjoy the Android experience and I can see why some people never buy a phone unless it has a Google Play Edition now.
