Root [MetroPCS] Do this for a 10i with all features SD fuse/wifi tethering /everything working /ect

Rom toolbox wouldn't let me change the permissions, to do so I had to

su
cd /system/bin
chmod 7666 hostapd

That didn't really work.

Using 2 different programs to change permissions you can get it to have setuid setgid and sticky, but you lose execute. Or check execute off on all, and lose the three other permissions.

But since we already are root it doesn't matter which selection, both do the same thing in concept
 
OK it works on 10b...but its random. Works for some apps, and not to mention the dreaded double of everything. So that sucks. Double of all songs I have and photos.

thats easy to fix go to ur music player and select which folder should ur phone get the music from example mine is just externalSD AND UNCLICK Sdcard0 and for pics is the same

btw it doesn't really make it in two files if it did u would have less memory and im sure u dont it just tricks the phone into thinking ih has a big memory

i recommend to use smanager for that its more handy and btw download and use android tuner go to tasks and kill hostapd
 
Lol I know it doesnt make it into two files...but it makes a copy of it. Kind of like a image of it but not the actual file. But yeah that is a common glitch with that mod. I've used it before and for that reason I stopped using it..but ehh w.e still better then nothing

Thanks man, really helpful. After having fun and playing around with it though, I managed to get another hand-me-down phone that I want to switch my sd to. So, how do I reverse the sd fuse script? I really wouldn't know how to.

just delete the script in the sd and ur set

Ever since my phone updated to the latest fw, i lost SD fuse and had to make do with link2sd, which sucked.

Now, using your guide, I'm back on 10i, fused, wifi tethered and everything is up and running like it used to back when I got the phone.

I've written this reply 3 Times now but Mozilla keeps crashing before I can finish. So short version. I'm up to the tethering part. when starting tether get error. log says send ap max client failed and ap start failed. I checked all instructions 4 Times. Also I paid for tethering so I tried using it normally and clients connect but get no internet on status. Great work on the sd merge portion!

Done! Thanks for your efforts so far! So any ideas on the errors starting the tethering app? I followed your intructions by the numbers and it seemed to go perfect until 2nd to the last step. The tethering log says all but the send max ap client and the start ap had successfully started. It doesnt say why those 2 failed.
 
I figured it out. It didnt like my ssid (invalid characters) and im guessing it changed out the settings and went default, i saw a quick pop up said invalid ssid not saved.

But were can i find the IE reg key you referenced? I googled it and only found referenced in this thread, or copies of you directions.

oh u mean the user agent? its an extension for google chrome

btw leave ssid as it is hmmm pm or ask again if u need help
