When i tried i couldnt even get hangouts to work :/ i went bk to my rom
 
Talkatone now works great for me without disabling anything. The charging animation when the phone is off is still grey but back to normal when I flash the old oc kernel. Thanks for all your hard work phenomx4.

Would also like to mention that USB tethering works for me! Goodbye foxifi lol
 
Anybody else having problems with YouTube? I have tried 2 other apps from the play store that play YouTube videos and they don't work either. I get an error message saying it couldn't be played on multiple videos. My desktop works fine so does l awe from my backup so I think that rules out my network configuration.

Unable to play videos with the youtube app as well.

Getting:

Connection to server lost
Touch to retry​

Tried uninstalling updates to the system app. Still will not play videos. Reinstalled updated from play store, same situation. Considering deleting the system app altogether, wiping cache and dalvik and installing again from the play store.

Chrome browser on the awe can access youtube site fine; videos appear to load in the browser, but do not play.

Update: removed youtube app, wiped cache/dalvik, reinstalled from play store - still seeing the same behavior.

Previous slimkat install (on another awe) is working fine.

Open to suggestions. Thanks.
 
Thanks for the update phenomx4.

Downloaded the update and the latest beta full gapps from the slimroms site.

Wiped cache, dalvik, system; installed ROM, then gapps.

Updated ROM seems to be running fine. Needed to reinstall a few apps for some reason.

YouTube app is now working.

screenrecord functionality via adb is also working (was not working for me under the previous install).

I will flash this tomorrow night after work and report back. Did you address the broken voicemail as well?
 
Flashed ("dirty upgrade" - cache / dalvik / system). Working fine. Candy Crush still takes multiple attempts to start. Camera still crashes (but I'm fine with CameraMX). Lost all my ringtone selections (not yet sure about other system settings). Had to reset my DPI. Other than that - everything is smooth.

Hey you might wanna give "A Better Camera" a shot, originally suggested by phenomX....I personally can't stand MX camera and the one I mentioned operates at good speed and the UI is excellent
 
So I just installed the new version and it worked fine until I flashed the OC kernel and that caused the Andriod GUI to crash over and over again. So that is a bummer. I had to restore to the previous version.
 
Nosir, I don't like it. It's overly complicated when I just want a snapshot... And, it crashes repeatedly. Thanks for trying!

*sigh* this sucks. and foldermount doesnt work either. its the only thing i need. there just isnt enough space on the emulated storage to do ANYTHING i want to with these kk roms.

Its sucks but emulated storage is the intentional default for 4.4+ and its deep even in the frameworks code according to several articles regarding the new "media only" on SD policy from google so its not something that's "broken" and needs fixed, its something that'll have to be traced, patched and or removed from the code. Plus most newer/high end devices running KK+ no longer support Micro SD cards... :thumbdown:
 
I haven't looked into it yet but does lollipop do the same? Oh also have any of you tried the 3+ xposed modules for storage? I had folder mount working on the previous build but changed it because it replicated my music at least 4 times lol. I will flash back to this in a little bit and play around with it. I was on stock for a little bit unfortunately trying to get the B07 update lol.

MMS is not working for me under Hangouts. Not functionality I use often, but it would be great to have the option available.

Also, I'm not able to send SMS from my phone number via Hangouts, just from my google voice number. Maybe just a Virgin Mobile issue?
 
Patiently waiting till the camera issue gets solved. Love this minimalistic rom but having a separate app for a camera is a minor annoyance. keep up the good work.
