Root New update

I'm putting together an update that anyone can use to either update or return to stock. Did anyone ever capture the B04 to B05 update? I have the 05 to 06 and 06 to 07, but I need the diff between 04 and 05.

Hopefully nothing funny was done in the B05 script. Here's a package to take you straight to stock-ish B07. Difference is it's rooted and doesn't have the stock recovery. Always wipe cache and dalvik-cache. If you don't wipe data then this just upgrades you. If there are stock apps you don't like I recommend removing them from /system/app before flashing. Be patient when flashing, it takes several minutes to do its thing.

N800_B07_FULL.zip - 390.98 MB

Is there a way to flash just the update itself? I'm already on stock, I just have a hard time getting to wifi spots for large downloads. Also, is this one deodexed or odexed?

This is the complete b07 stock rom its not just the ota zip :)

That's what I was guessing because of the size. I was wondering if I could download and flash only the update rather than the entire ROM. Cause I'm still on stock, so I'd rather just take the update than download and reinstall the entire stock ROM again. Is that possible?

Edit; I mean, could I just flash the OTA zip while on the deodexed stock ROM?

No, the OTA is odexed.

anyone have the b07 build.prop file? the popup is killing me and I dont have the ability to get the file myself (otherwise I totally would!)

Anything new in this worth fooling with? If not,Im just going to remove support in my rom for the ota updates if possible. Tired of these popups for things that have nothing to do with my service, auto downloading and eating up my data allotment. These clowns pushing software to everyone and it was for fartmart crap with the last update. This probably will end up being a lot of root breaking crap not worth bothering with. Most updates from the manufacturers of prepaid devices aren't worth bothering with.

edit: get a load of that boot animation for the walmart update...atrocious lol

WiFi tether support, stability and/or security updates, and a modem patch. It has my recommendation.

I'll give zte credit for at least pushing something. Bad experiences with virgin mobile "ota" updates on my end. The One V got a whopping 400 mb update just to break root. And then a radio update that really did nothing for the phone that ended up making all the roms need boot patches. I'll avoid this until its confirmed issue free.

I flashed this N800_B07_FULL.zip - 390.98 MB tonight. It did not show up on first click and on the second try it did, but the download was super slow. When I went to flash it with cwm it asked if I wanted to keep root and I clicked yes. It loaded fine. The nag icon was still there at first, but disappeared after a few seconds. It had superuser as a system app and I already had super su, so I froze the superuser one. Everything works good except when I try and replace the droidsansfallbadk.tif file with root explorer with the one with the iphone icons it will not let me even though it says it was successful.
Edit: Got the droidsansfallback.tif file to take with es file explorer and a reboot. Root explorer did not work. Thanks spock1104 for the update!

It would be sweet if they pushed us 4.2 or something like that...you know ACCIDENTAL LIKE lol. I just removed google play services and all other google related stuff from my rom and no more update nags. The updater needs play services specifically in order to nag you. I happened upon that by flashing so much I caused the rom to ask me if I wanted to install with package installer or play services. I deleted play services and rebooted and no more nag screen.

I suspect that rather than going that extreme you can just use Disable Service to disable the update service within play services.

Yeah probably but it was the norm for me. I use absolutely no google services at all. I Just consider it bloatware at this point. When search begins to push upwards of 20 megs...its bloatware garbage. I use third party programs for apps.

By removing all the unused media files, the boot animation(except for something custom I use in framework-res) and all the google and virgin mobile stuff I have been able to trim the stock rom down to 241 megs and that includes using xperia keyboard and launcher with walkman, video and other ported xperia apps. Runs smooth. Now if I could just get rid of that tinny sound in voice calls.

I bought a used ZTE AWE, it comes with B07 pre-loaded, can someone please help me hot to root this? I've tried the RomasterSU.zip but it didn't work on B07, please help!
