In IE8 (on a corporate network so unable to upgrade) when hovering the cursor over an item a preview box pops up but then when moving away it doesn't disappear....so when navigating around the screen I get lots of preview boxes filling the screen.

Call it what you may, but I see a *completely different* view when I log in from a pc (still a chrome browser). And what I see when I log in from the Windows smartphone (ie) is the same as the android, they are both different than a conventional desktop display.

If you see the same thing when you log in from a pc and from a smartphone, then you must have your Harry Potter wand. ;)

What I'm saying is they are the same style (or layout, or theme, whatever you want to call it) that is being applied it just reacts differently based on your screen size. It scales itself, this is why you can take your desktop browser window and make it thinner to see how it would work with different screen sizes. Whereas the old site used two different styles and they each stayed true to one look no matter what size screen you tried them with. So, when we detected smaller screens we sent you to one, larger we sent you to another. This is why a "use desktop view" worked - because your client could bypass (or simply be redirected with an appropriate link, depends) and go straight to the main style.

This one reacts to screen size accordingly and is the only theme. We COULD create a second non responsive style and call it 'desktop' and maybe one day we will - but the beauty of responsive is to only need to maintain one style and to make it look good across all devices. The problem is.. trying to please everyone and put what they consider important first.. that's hard to do.

As for your problem - you're not the only. Those with really really small screens or dpi have that. We are going to rework the logo to be even smaller so all the buttons fit and you won't need to landscape :)

There are still intermittent issues with Tapatalk. I have to sign out and back at least once a day. It will be working fine then will just stop and not load anything at all. It seems to happen if it's not accessed for a while, like overnight.

I'm using the AF app too, that seems to work much better but sometimes pulls up blank boxes instead of actual posts. I don't see that often at all though, just every now and again.

Not complaining, just throwing it out there :)

Minor issue when you set the "Sticky Header" to yes under preferences in that the thread scroll doesn't adjust. When you jump to say "First Unread" the post you are jumping to is partially covered by the header. Like I said, its minor, and you can just scroll up to see the whole post. Just something for the punchlist.

Loving the new format now, thanks again :)

One very small gripe...when viewing in Chromium on my desktop pc, "My Forums" is the first link on the navigation bar at the top. This is perfect. When viewing in Chrome on my Android device, "My Posts" is the first link and I have to click "..." to get to "My Forums". Again, this is a very small gripe. Not sure why the order changes on the navigation bar going from desktop to android and I wish it would not.

I miss being able to see the Country/Location from a user's profile. I know you can if you click on someone's profile but when you are reading through a thread it's nice to see at a quick glance (firmware, devices, updates, etc can vary from country to country). Even a rollover would help. On the other hand, a lot of people don't even fill it out.

I re-entered my Devices info into my profile but don't see it anywhere. Is it just a black hole now?

Yeah I noticed that. 'My Forums' ought to be the last thing that is hidden when the forum is scaled down, IMO.

You can see that if you go to your full profile and hit the info tab.

I guess the key, for me, is at a glance, when I'm reading/replying to a thread not having to click three times, and then back to a thread. I guess I'm used to see just looking to the left and under the avatar. Human factors.

I would agree.

I now have edit buttons on mobile and desk top versions of Chrome. The mobile site having a drop down tool box with edit and report in it. The desktop having seperate buttons for report and edit.

Slowly I'm getting used to the new forum. I love the new PM facility where you can start a conversation with more than one person, very messenger like, and you can still have the privacy of a one to one. Two small gripes already mentioned, the user info under their name and avatar, plus a marker on their avatar greyed out - off line, green on line would be fab, and finally "my forums" link to be available top left in every page of the mobile version.

Thanks again, four days in (including Saturday of course) and this place is really getting there now. A brilliant effort. It's still a bit confusing, but it is growing on me, when I hated it at first.

usually this works fine for all the sites I visit, but your new sidebar is kicked downstairs: View attachment 77474

...widened, the sidebar behaves but it's all too wide for my taste: View attachment 77475
That seem like the same thing I see when I zoom in and ultimately get to the mobile view. It's relative to the available resolution. In this case I can exactly replicate the view in your screenshot by zooming to 175%.o_O

This is in the Android app only, not Windows.
I believe someone may have mentioned this and posted a screenshot much earlier in the thread. Just wanted to note that it's still happening.

Feeling naked without my ROM Developer badge :p

edit: just noticed i have also been demoted to well-known member lol

edit2: another edit because I can...because you rule and fix things when they are broken :)
