Extend Battery and 64GB SD Card

Kahroo

Android Expert
Are there any extend batteries for this phone? And can this phone handle a 64GB microSD card? The EVO 3D could if you formatted it within the phone first. But I don't want to buy one only to find out it doesn't work.

What makes you think this phone only supports 32gig cards? Just because the package says that? I've seen multiple phones claim that and still work with larger cards.

Well go and test it out and come back with screenshots. Don't be a pompous ass about it.

Questions and statements, that's all I see. Pompous? Where?.....oh, I retyped this response several times to be the least "Assy"
....that might have been pompous

How are you guys filling up your cards so fast?

It took me 2 years to fill up a 16gb.

Even on my camera it's hard to fill up a 16Gb and that shooting 18mp raw files and 1080 24-60fps Full HD videos.

I picked up a Sandisk 64GB chip to use with my Awe but it didn't see the card. I reformatted it to Fat32 and it still didn't see the card, though I checked it out and both my Monster M7 tablet and my old Motorola Triumph recognize it. So I put it in the Triumph, which I'm now using as an mp3 player.

I also partitioned it into two 32GB drives and the Awe didn't see it.
So I bought a 32GB chip and it runs fine in the Awe.

Give rbheromax's kernel a try with the 64 GB card

Give this a try with the latest awestruck beta kernel. Make sure you format the card as exfat on your computer first. My largest card is 16gb so I can't test.

I know im suuuupppeeeeerrrrr late to this party, but i can confirm that a 64GB card works. I'm using a Sony 64GB Class 10 SD Card and it works perfectly. I can't speak for stock firmware but i'm using it with CM12.1. Once you insert the card, Android will prompt you to format it before you can use it. If it doesn't prompt you, then format it in the settings and you will be good to go! Hope this helps new users skimming the threads :)
