I will try with the pay version of 3C Toolbox (since it doesn't look like you can get it anymore with the old name).

The free version those not work... I tried it before... So end-up with the paid one... N it workd.. So why not paying ones n hav tether for as much we can... ????
 
I haven't had a chance to try with the paid 3C Toolbox yet since I haven't had my daughters phone since the last time I tried but, remembering back on what happened, I have a question.

After setting up Wi-Fi Tether and the free version of 3C Toolbox shouldn't I have at least gotten the upsell page? There was no internet connection at all.
 
You must have done something incorrectly. You will need to uninstall WiFi tether and start over, following the directions to the letter. By the way I just got it to work with the free version of 3c Toolbox without having to do anything other than what's listed in the OP. Also, the developer still makes money off the ads in the free version so there's no harm in using it if you don't need the pro features.
 
There should be a link in the OP for the version of WiFi tether needed. You can try doing every step except for the one that uses root explorer. Root explorer probably isn't needed since you are only navigating to the file location but it's a good app to have. In my opinion it is the best file manager there is for rooted android. You can even use it to theme deodexed apps if you know what you're doing. Btw one thing I learned not too long ago is that an apk is just a zip with the file extension changed to apk.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times following each step exactly as it is written. I will admit that I'm not sure what step 2 accomplishes since all you do is navigate to a folder and look at a file. (Do you open it? With what?) Other than that step the rest of the steps are pretty straight forward. Also, Wi-Fi tether works fine on other phones I have, just not this new f6. If I had to choose where the problem is I would have to lean toward the phone since Wi-Fi tether works for me on other phones.

Edit: wow, I can't understand why the written instructions and the video aren't the same. I just watched the video and was surprised to find out you need to change the permissions of hostapd. I wish the written instructions said that. Could have saved me a lot of time. I'll give it another try when I have my daughters phone again.

*right click- run start IE. .. n there u go. If u update IExplorer u may have to run registry again.

**Instructions.**
1-Delete all those wigets and tethering apps u have already installed.
2-Go to Root Explorer or whichever manager u hav.
**Go to System/bin/hostapd
3-Install Android Tuner.
4-Install wifi-tether. DO NOT START
5-Restart Ur F6
SETTINGS wifi-tether "
*Device-Prof... Generic ICS/JB (WLAN0)
*Setup-Method ..Netd-Ndc(MASTER)
*Send Netd Max Client Cmd.. (Checked)
*Enable Wifi-Encryption.. leave unchecked NOT WORKING FOR NOW
*Change SSID.. (your favorite)
*WIFi-dirver Reload2..(checked)
*Enable Access-Crontrol... (Checked)
*Change LAN...Select =192.168.2.0/24
*MSS clamping...(checked)----RUN WIFI-TETHER---
**SETTING ANDROID TUNER
Open Android Tuner TASK find System/bin/Hostapd click on it and KILL

Just a little feedback here.
This method works fine without doing step 2. You don't need root explorer or any other file manager.

everything that u doing is good make sure that the wifitether n wifitether dns mask X is on red cus the Task manager will kill them if not ...
Don't mess with the permissions of the hotsapd... Leave them wr.r.r....
U need a User Agent switcher for chrome...
And yes on CM u dont need this... The only thing about the cm its the bugs that still hav... They're great roms... Except the bugs...
