Help Slight stuttering in HTC one m8

Ap3xGam3r

Newbie
Hi, I just got my HTC one m8 and I noticed that ocassionally when I pull down the notification bar, it stutters a bit..am I just too paranoid or expect too much from this phone? Is this normal?

I've never used one and I believe it's quite heavily skinned which could cause the stutter.
Has it always done this or did it start after a system update?

"heavily skinned" just means the manufacturer has added a lot on top of the android OS, sometimes slowing it down.
If you don't mind losing all your data you could try a factory reset which will wipe everything but "might" improve performance

Factory resetted twice with no luck D: also wiped cache partition too

Funky long time no see, what you doing in this part?

Regarding the question, I don't remember there being any stutter on bringing the notification shade down. I'm rooted, ROM'd and custom kerneled so now and again I expect a bit of stutter but I do remember thinking that the M8 was insanely smooth in everything it did. But it was a while ago.

Honestly I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Alright, but one weird thing is that my device seems COMPLETELY smooth at night when I use my phone, but in the afternoon is when the stuttering starts to come in..why is that?

My wife's M8 is completely stock and there's no hesitation or stuttering at all on hers.

You've got something else going on.

Try GSam Battery Monitor - next time it happens, go right to your radio graph - see if the signal is oscillating.

If you're on wifi and your cell radio is fine, use Wifi Analyzer to see if you're on a crowded or fluctuating channel.

Sry, how do I check my radio graph with the battery monitor?

Not sure how you do that..I'm new to this forum
Sorry, I just assumed, my bad. :)

Ironically, turn off all notifications in our current app or it'll suck your battery too. (And everyone involved in development knows, just not fixed yet.) Or, uninstall when done, reinstall when necessary.

Anyway - sign in with the app, come back here, tapping a post lets you like it or QUOTE it, or you can just reply.

In the reply tool, look for a camera or menu option to include a picture.

Hold power and tap home to take a screen shot. You may have to try it a few times to get the timing right. Screen shots go to the Gallery, choose that from the app.

And welcome to the forums!

Perfect!

OK - that's not the greatest thing.

That would cause a faster battery drain while low but I *think* not stuttering.

You mentioned it's worse in the afternoon.

Please post back after a picture of the worst time you mentioned.

You can also turn your phone to landscape, slide left-right to window different time and zoom time as needed for more detail visible on this afternoon's shot.

Alright, should I turn in force GPU rendering? I heard it helps performance?

Here is the signal in the afternoon, but I am at school so that may be a cause

Does it happen when The screen has just turned on or at any time? Also,, do you know if your phone is rooted?
