Root HTC One M8 Sprint rooted won't boot to os

If you need to go RUU using the zip method, just to flag up the first character in the 0P6BIMG.zip is a Zero - and needs to be for the file to be recognised correctly.

(For some reason the font on here makes it look like a lowercase letter o.)
Thanks, I thought it was o-o_O

Ok, renamed RUU_M8_......exe to 0P6BIMG.zip (zero) and it went through the cycle saying wrong zipped image. I powered off removed the sd card and went back to recovery. I used the non HK version, could that be it?

Never mind. I downloaded the wrong one. I am also downloading the full firmware. I will give an update when done. Also, do I flash the firmware?

That is the file I downloaded. Do I put on my sd card with the 0PBUMG.zip ?
You do one after the other.

Flash the RUU.

Remove the 0P6BIMG.zip file from the sd card.

Rename the firmware to 0P6BIMG.zip.

Put on sd card.

Flash the firmware.

Remove the 0P6BIMG.zip from the sd card.

Boot into bootloader - factory data reset.

Reboot phone.

Man, I will be so stoked when I finish this journey and thanks to you and this forum my phone will not be a paper weight.
Then I will always be sure the backups are in tact in the right place before I go mucking about.

Thanks.:)

I am getting error "device halted due to large image update fail" press power to reboot. I do this and it repeats. any ideas?

Zip file in sdk-tools, command window -

md5sums name-of-file.zip

The value you want to match up to is on the file download site.

If not matching, it's a bad download. Try to download again.

If the md5 checksum is good, go back to xda, get the previous ruu, try that.

I keep getting this with the md5

C:\Users\Dennis\sdk\sdk-tools>md5sums 0P6BIMG_Sprint_HTC_One_M8_4.20.651.10_RUU.
zip

Say

dir

See if it's there and the name is right.

I checked md5 and 0P6 and both are in the specified dir. I did a fresh download and got the same results on the md5 and on the phone it was parsing and then the error popped up. In fastboot should I factory reset and in twrp would there be something else to wipe?

Thank you

No I didn't, I will do that now. Thanks. Now I get it. Okay, md5 checks out with what was on point of down load.

I just tried the next one-same result. I checked the md5 on the first one on both times I downloaded it and it checked out. Downloading the next in line of previous RUU's. Anything you think I can do while I am waiting that might help?
