No way BB is going to sell you a pre-order and then NOT give you a phone.

Person was giving you bullshit, BB can't be dumb enough to do something like that.

How can he know anyways? It's not even official yet.

ROFL back at you. My Rant is sitting idle in a drawer somewhere. :eek:

My Hero will be treated better though. When I get my EVO, my wife will take possession of a well treated, albeit non-updated Hero.

I understand the Hero isn't the baby of Sprint (more like a red headed step child) like the EVO is, but it really does make me wonder if we'll go through the same fiasco's getting freaking updates and fixes in a timely manner for our new love?
 
Regardless of what happens, I will be outside of the store the morning before it opens and likely the night before, to see if they're willing to sell any early. A man can dream.

that's how bestbuy did it for preorders. they did that with driod incredible too. i got info from my BB sales friend. he confirm that's how they do pre-orders

I'm new so hopefully I'm not crossing some line but we were just having a bit of fun, not sure why the thread got locked. Everyone was having a great time...*bites finger nails* hope this post doesn't earn me a ban.

I hope you're right, he may have just been confused. But he definitely said very clearly that preordering doesn't guarantee I get one if there are more people in front of me in line than there are EVOs to sell. I don't think best buy knows how many units they'll get, so I could see them selling preorders to anyone and everyone and then not having enough on day one. I think the same thing happened with the Palm Pre and preorders (pun!) and a lot of people had to wait for a second wave of units to come in to stock.

well if she doesn't want your Hero... I will take it... pass it to my hubby and spare me the expense of 2 Evo's :D
 
If you don't want the thread to be closed again, please do me a big favor and report a post if it needs to be addressed. If you report something early enough, a Mod can come and delete posts as necessary and stop an argument in it's tracks.

Best Buy would not want to meet me under those circumstances ..that I can promise LOL psycho female with 3 kids and tell me I can't get a phone... would not be a pretty result.. :p
 
The stuff that started flying after Trident said he'd be out for a bit was at best juvenile, and more along the lines of inappropriate and had no purpose at all.

If people can't act even semi-responsible, thankfully there are mods to shut it off. I'm no prude and believe me, I could tell you some jokes that would make you blush, but seeing a Kermit the Frog, ass slapping a lamb, just isn't my cup of tea AT ALL. It was funny for about 1/2 a second. The banana was right along the same line of reasoning. Seriously, are we in 8th grade here?

Most people in here are serious about the EVO, while having fun discussing it. Having a thread locked everyday for 3 or 4 days in a row gets old, bothersome, and tiring.

Good rule of thumb: If you think, "hmmm, I wonder if I will get in trouble for this?", it's probably best to just not post it.

As I said, just my $.02

Not a chance. Once I showed her all that the Hero could do (Remember this was back in October when the Hero really was cool...:rolleyes:) she wanted this thing bad.

I actually offered to buy her an EVO and she said no, the Hero was fine. :eek:

They did the same for the palm pre (the gift card thing).. but you were promised a phone.. What would be the point of pre ordering anything if you weren't promised to get one on the date? That would be odd if they did that!
 
it might be better to get your phone from radio shack because BB might run out fast, but radioshack might get a smaller amount of units available...any thoughts?

As far as my experience goes with Best Buy, if you pre-order you are guaranteed a phone but if you don't pick it up on the agreed upon time or date you lose it.

not all stores, my local store would NOT pre-sale a phone, but b/c i had come in there so much wanting to know more about the pre and trying to get them to pre-sale it, guy mobile manager did hold one for me if i was not near front of line (but i was 2nd person in line), but he told me they were NOT allowed to presale anything!
