I bought a Turbo Droid about 3 weeks ago. I believe I'm running 4.0. It's the one before Lollipop. I go into Settings/Wi-Fi. I have a choice of about 10 different providers. It shows their signal strength and then a padlock on top of it. The one I'm using has no padlock. That one is "xinfinitywifi". It has about the worst reception of all of them. I want to change to another one; namely "NETGEAR46". When I select this one, it shifts to another window. They want the password. My question is, "how do I find the password, and is that all I need to open that provider"? Thank You in advance.

To find the password you ask the person whose WiFi router it is, assuming they are happy for you to use their WiFi.
Chances are that that is somebody's home router you are seeing, judging by the network name.

The "NETGEAR46" is password protected, obviously, and whomever owns that access point will have the password. You'll have to get it from them with their permission.
The Xfinity one you connected to is probably an open wifi that has no password.

I'll try not to be too prudish, but everybody's got to begin at some time, and at the risk of looking like I don't know what the hell I'm doing, I'll ask; What do I do from here. My original question has been well answered. I certainly appreciate it. Is there anything else to this? Am I supposed to hit the "Like" button, or the "Best Answer" button (that would be difficult, because all 3 were right on), or do I just thank the people and move on? Judging by Hadron's last answer I would guess that that is meant for me. So, sorry if I offended and I'll try to get it right next time.

Don't let that put you off. Everyone here was, at some time, in your shoes. Unlike some other sites, AF welcomes questions from "newbies" because knowledge is something to be shared, not restricted to an elite.
