Root [ROM][ALPHA][5.1.1] Dirty Unicorns 4/29/2015

The keyboard and playstore crashes are known at least for us...there's a set of more current gapps "banks gapps" his 4/28 and newer package solved it for me. As far as apps that involve the camera may have something to do with the cameras current need of a third party app. Pull some logs if you can duplicate the issue.

Them gapps are big in size any mini available for dynamic gapps
 
I get key board crash every now and then as for camera i removed it installed fx camera now my hardware button works the camera:)

Don't know if u get on fb if so plz can u see if the app is working for u without boots
 
I had one reboot gmail keeps crashing and play store and key board haven't pulled log yet I see if I can last one did not record for some reason

Think I fixed it had recovery problems again had to flash old recovery format manually then flash latest recovery format data again my errors are gone in recovery now then re flashed latest build of dirty unicorn no rebots or any fcs

Couldn't get the new recovery to flash kept giving me error -O when mounting system. Flashed back to previous version then du latest and couldn't get past testing connections. Tried on both wifi and data. Decided to flash back to CM12 :(.
 
Please keep in mind that I do not say any of the following to offend, I wish only to share some thoughts that arise from what I've seen occur here, regarding the linking of builds.

I feel it is important that the linking of a ROM, be left to the individual who is actively developing and/or maintaining it. That being said I also understand the desire to help an individual. In cases such as these, I feel it would be better etiquette to send the link via PM. My reasoning is this; The link for the new build may not have been provided for a reason. And there are potentially many reasons why an individual may not provide it immediately. These could range from small bugs, to a corrupted upload, to things that are potentially much worse. This could also prevent potential headaches for the developer should an end user end up with a horrible issue. In addition to these things, I've also noticed in the past, that phenom likes to do mass releases as well, providing fixes across multiple ROMs at once, and sometimes releasing multiple ROMs at a time. There is glory, and surely a sense of triumph that comes with such an act. We wouldn't want to take away from that; would we?

That would mean a link would have to be delivered to every individual with an awe I don't think phen would have the link available if it would cause harm to an individuals device actually the link provided is much better then the previous build the link is not invisible its there for awe users to try I'm pretty sure the link would of been removed if phen didn't want ppl to know about it just trying to help ppl out
 
I'm pretty much in agreement to handle this however X4 wants it to be. It's a huge gift he's given us. And hobbling him with other support work is suck.

Anyhow, what I would like to see is better English. Some of the posts are cryptic, seemingly intentionally, especially when assistance is given. Hard enough to have a problem and bring it forth then to get incomprehensible instructions.

Maybe it's just me...
 
I wanna thank PhenomX4 for this great ROM . I also wanna thank Armymartinez for recommending this ROM in a different post . I find it kinda strange that PhenomX4 has been absent in this forum post except for the ROM post itself . For some reason there is also another ROM on his page that apparently addresses some of the issues the first release has . I hope he's OK . However I just wonder at the reason why he hasn't posted this officially ? This ROM is stable enough to run as a daily with some minor tweaking .

I don't blame you for sharing. You thought it would help many people so why not. Personally it is a public link so if there was a problem I'm sure he would remove it. As for my problem it probably comes down to a bad phone as I have had one problem or another on every ROM. If its not my gps not locking on its my wifi freezing and restarting my phone. No one else seems to have my issues so it is just my bad luck lol.

I think what concerns people is what can be interpreted as a simple breach of etiquette, while you may have been given the link by the author for testing or as a preview for a new release people are just saying he hasn't chimed in and given his express permission in doing so. I don't personally feel you've done anything out of turn except possibly jumped the gun in posting the link which was to help some folks with existing issues. So that being said I think given the circumstances and the spirit in which it was done that there's no need for a public stoning or excessive ridicule. But to keep inline with normal protocol I would remove the link until the developer chimes in. Because at the end of the day it's his build and he is responsible for all the questions, issues or concerns that may arise. Removing it simply protects the both of you until he's made an official post. [emoji106] [emoji4]

Already removed du gummy and bliss are not on a thread nothing wrong with the ROMs I guess he didn't feel like creating a thread for them

Just rember it is still Alfa stage if u have problems get logcat done and post it or pm phen with the log cat so he can try to fix ;)
