Root [ROM][ALPHA][5.1.1] Dirty Unicorns 4/29/2015

Quite frankly, open source is open source but anything that the dev added privately is his intellectual property until he says it's not.

Everyone is somehow an open source expert but let me clue you in on something - it's governed by open source licensing and that happens to be quite real and quite legal.

Richard Stallman, the inventor of open source and the GNU Public License was once asked how you could license open source.

His answer was simple and crystal clear -

It's free as in speech, not free as in beer.

The free beer post is hereby removed.

Don't post it again and don't advise on this further - you've crossed a line that left forum etiquette about hundred miles back.

Thank you.

What it comes down to if a dev gave u a link don't give it to any body unless the dev said so

Well, I'm not playing devils advocate (no pun intended). I'm not aware that the link was provided by the dev to the individual who shared it. All I am to assume is that because it's publicly accessible, the individual stumbled upon it himself and by making such "discovery", he then wished to impart hopefully helpful knowledge to others. That's all I see. However furthermore, I've only shared my perspective insight on the matter in the form of words, which is expression of free thought and has nothing to do with open source, other peoples work directly, Google, private licensing, or anything other than my opinion for that matter. I think it somewhat tyrannical for someone to tell me I can't do that.

Actually an individual shared the devs basket I took the link out of there so ppl will have the correct version let's get phen opinion on this matter I'm pretty sure he doesn't mind or the link that was provided would of been removed from the servers

More thread cleaning - I've left the two of you with your last words on the subject.

Object all you want to me via private messaging - all views have been noted, anything else will be removed as off topic.

Everyone here agreed to this -

http://androidforums.com/threads/site-rules-guidelines.704/

"If staff asks you to end an argument, debate or any sort of dramatic agenda - please do as asked. Staff are here to keep AF focused and on point - if they ask you to stop doing something it is because they have the welfare of AF in mind."

Also -

"In regards to all of this.. Moderators will handle situations at their discretion – using this thread (and guidelines given to them in the moderator forum) as a starting point. If you have a problem with a member or a post here, report it. Mods will see it. If you have a problem with a moderators actions or how they handle a situation, feel free to PM or email me. phases at phandroid dot com."

Until the dev speaks up, the matter is closed for public discussion.

Anyone have problems with calendar? When I open it it ask for my Google login then tells me that it has already been added. I back out of it and it shows my account but does not sync any calendars. Been using the browser version just so I have my calendars. :(
