Stingray, could you try pulling the Email.apk from the last version of CM that worked, and running it on this ROM? Something along the lines of:

Code:
su
sysrw
mv /system/app/Email.apk /system/app/Email.bak //make a backup of current Email
busybox cp /sdcard/Email.apk /system/app/ //Copy over the CM email from sdcard
sysro
sync

^^^NICE!! Running the GOW theme!

Been almost a week and this ROM is thee most stable and smooth running I have used so far, no problems with SetCpu or anything at all!! Just about the longest running ROM I have used continuously since Sholes first came out..

BIG THanks to Fabolous!!!

Interesting! I'll take a look at the P3Droid kernel when I get home tonight.

Are the memory management features still working? That is, do you still have 50 mb free all the time?

Well, I tried 4 of the P3 kernels, and I wiped the boot partition 3 times before each install. Not one of them would get past the "M" logo on my Droid. So I'm back to the Bekit 1200.

so the only kernels besides the ones that pete recommends that works with this without breaking anything is the p3 ones?

does anyone know if the p3 will also work on regular beast 1.0

I've seen several posts by folks running a P3 kernel with the leaked 1.0.

But if you're asking about BB 1.0 official, versus NexBeast, yes, the info I originally gave about folks running P3 kernels came from Pete's thread at AD.

that's weird. its funny how picky these phones are.

Yea I read somewhere (I think it was over on the CM forums) that it has to do with how the chips are made... They are made in big sheets and then cut, so when they are cut some of them that are more towards the edges are pickier then others when it comes to voltage requirements and clock speeds. The post said that it also happens with desk tops as well...

And GLD, I just had a weird experience when I just flashed back to a P3Droid 1200 Kernel... I have used his in the past just fine and I normaly bounce back and forth between Bekit and P3Droid (don't ask I'm OCD sometimes :P )... Anyway when I just flashed the P3D 1200 my phone did the install thing then rebooted like normal, got to the boot screen and took forever, and I mean forever, like we are talking almost my whole cig break forever... then imediatly started the boot screen over and booted up fine... never had that happen before...

I use this type of voicemail every day and have not had any issues. I use TD with my corporate exchange server and the stock client with my personal Exchange server. I have forwarded once of the wavs from my corporate account (on exchange 2003, TD client) to my personal account (exchange 2007, Native client) and have had no issues getting my wav attachments. Sorry, I dont really have any suggestions other than try another client since you are having some sort of compatibility issue here.

Have you tried making a nandroid backup of your phone, wiping your apps and data and then setting up your e-mail for a quick test on a pristine BB or CM install?

I'm gonna try the fix that Fab suggested (switching out the email.apk)....if that doesn't work I may get you to help walk me thru setting up Touchdown...I used it a long time ago, but when I tried to connect to my exchange server with it the other day I couldn't get the setting right....I'll let you know..thanks.

Well, I wonder if that means I just didn't wait long enough? (It felt like an eternity but it was nothing like a full 5 min. or something.)

Well that was pretty simple! Worked like a charm. I pulled the Email.apk from CM 5.0.5.3 and used your ADB code to push it to Nexbeast....

Emails are now giving me the open file option to open and listen to the .wav file (voicemail) like they should....so far no side effects..

I'm not sure what changed with the Email app after 5.0.5.3, but evidently the problem is also with the one contained in BB v1.0 and Nexbeast 1.0....

I really appreciate the simple solution....thanks again!:D

PDR, just to be sure -- there was the overclocking command at the end and a number of lines of CPU commands toward the top that I deleted, so what was left is what I posted (and, as I noted, I added the last line so that I could be sure that it actually ran when I typed the script into Terminal Emulator).

I have a question for you, I have SPRecovery flashed on my droid, do I need to put clocked recovery on also? and do I need to put ESE81update in as well because I already have the 2.1 update in before I put SPRecovery on. I it rooted I think because I do get the special permission when I did the su in terminal emulator. Can u help? I want my droid almost like yours.

If you have SPRecovery installed already, you can just install the ROM file in my first post.

Just be sure to rename it to update.zip

Since you're on ESE81, you don't technically need to wipe, though I would still suggest doing the 'Factory Wipe' command in SPRecovery, before you go down to install, allow update.zip, and install update.zip

I just tried and it says update.zip install blocked installation aborted?

There is (or was) a HTC Sense themed skin for the new BW, but it wasn't actually on the skins list, it was made by the person over at GrafiXpressions - Express yourself in vinyl form!... , there are some other ones on the market from them. Might want to ask if its still available if you're interested.

Edit: Found it!

Naw, it didn't work. I let the "M" logo languish for about 15 minutes (it would cycle about every minute, but always came back to the M logo) before I called it quits and loaded the Bekit 1200 again.

I'm going to test out this p3droid kernel today. So far, seems comparable to bekit.

so I installed with sprecovery (3b) but if I wanted to move to clockwork would I get the OTA issue?

also, how would I re-install sprecovery?

p3 kernel is working awesome for me right now. not sure if its a bug or what but i'm only at 90% battery life right now. been off the charger for about 6 hrs now, with 15 min of pandora streaming, 15 min of watching Lost at full brightness, checked twitter, facebook, engadget, and chatting on and off for about 2 hours. normally i would've had 60-70% battery life by now. also it idles down to 25C when before it would idle 29C. highest i saw it go so far is 37C.

on the 1ghz kernel with setcpu disabled. just letting pete's script do its thing. running like a dream. smooth, cool, and excellent battery. must be some kinda magic combo for me with P3 and v1.0.
