The N1 was PB99100 so N2 is a possibility. I thought MOTO was building that though, and MOTO phones tags usually start with IH. Doesn't seem like it'd be the Hero2 PB76100 though since I think that got FCC approved in February along with the GSM variant PB 76110 just recently approved.

Never been as curious about such a small detail before, but it's a missing piece of my "Where's the Evo" puzzle that's been coming together since CTIA announcement.

oh and i spotted the white circles for the bottom menu buttons that someone was complaining about. i guess he got the answer. it's apparently not LED backlit but white circles.

Yeah, I was hoping that they'd get rid of the silver circles around the bottom touch buttons (as Jackson had promised). Looks so much better, IMHO, without those circles... which makes the EVO look a little bit tacky.

Oh well, we can't have it all.

I have a question, my friend has HTC Hero from Sprint. He thinks he will be able to get 4G connection when they have it here in Orlando.

Is he right?

Is the 4G for any sprint phone? Or does the phone need to have a specific strong hardware to support 4G?

From what others more knowledgable than me have reported, that won't be possible. Something about none of the current phones having the appropriate radio signal to connect to 4G. I could be way off base, but that's what I've understood from reading on here.

Definitely wrong. 3G and 4G are very different technologies. A phone with only a 3G radio cannot use 4G and a phone with only a 4G radio cannot use 3G. The Evo has both.

Or you can move to Oregon and pay NO sales tax. Its nice to be an Oregonian. I have never paid any sales tax since I moved here from LA. I live in Southern Oregon (about 40 minutes from the California boarder) and you should see all the Northern Californians that come up to do the Costco shopping or anything really. Another cool thing about Oregon is we are not allowed to pump are own gas. Its the law.

Called the local Radio shack and he really had no clue anything about the phone and said he didn't think they would be doing presales.. called BB and they said they will be... took my information and verified i was due an upgrade and said they would call me when presales was available we will see if he does! lol

Interesting to see, to say the least. I've been basing the plans off of the Simply Everything Plan, or Everything Data, and 4G would be included -- However, from the first screen shot could this theory be wrong? Or could that screen only meant that the hotspot will be the plan difference?

I think the general consensus was that the "hotspot" would carry a charge.. around 10-20/mo I haven't really seen anything different.. that could be what that is referring to..but of course no real way to know..

DISCLAIMER: Just so you know, I completely disagree with the following statement.

This is correct. Sprint actually has several current cell phones which will be capable of 4G with an update. These include the Pre, instinct, and black berry models. Wether they will all get an update or not idk. I am thinking not so it is more enticing to buy the Evo and sign a new contract. Atleast that would be the smart move for Sprint Cough Cough.

As far as i know the Evo will be available everywhere. More than likely more Evos will be shipped to 4G cities for that is where it should be more popular. Ill try and find out more but i would find that extremely peculiar. One thing i do know is that Government and huge corporations have first dibs on this one. The united states gov is all over this one haha

To say that post by jackson was incorrect is an understatement. No current Sprint phone outside of the Evo can use 4G. Period.

I really really want this phone, but I have a broadband contract with sprint until the middle of next year which I don't see them letting me out of so that I can use my phone for the same feature.

Hey guys long time lurker here. Been following this thread for awhile. Little background was a windows mobile guy for a bit had the ppc 6700 then the touch and then the touch pro i now have a HTC hero which i bought at bestbuy with the 2 day early rewards zone thing and so now I am a big fan of android and have been impatiently waiting for the release of the The EVO. Not sure if this has been posted yet but its Specs from Walmart but it seems to have some Specs listed that I have not seen anywhere else like an OLED screen not sure if its correct info but here is the link.

Yeah they don't want jobs taken away by self serve, I like that they are mindful of that even if they are low paying jobs. I have heard some say it's for "insurance reasons" but it's actaully to make sure that they have people hired at filling stations.
