MyName, how the hell did you get put on probation in only 9 posts? And I've seen like three of them...so that's pretty damn impressive :D

He had said his firm got one for a photoshoot the first time, so that helps back up your story.

I think it was cause I said most of the people ITT are ******ed.

Which is true.

Hello Everyone,

Since you are on my HTC EVO 4G Preorder list, I wanted to let you know that I validated your upgrade – and your phone line will be fully eligible for all discounts & rebates when the EVO 4G is released next month. We have numerous preorder customers waiting for this groundbreaking phone – but not all will be eligible for the full savings when it is released. This is based on upgrade eligibility. Fortunately, no worries for you!

We’re still waiting on pricing information at this time – but as soon as that information is released, I will let you know.

Thanks, and have a great weekend!

I hate when you read something then respond then read on to see 500 people already said what you said. LOL sorry :)

No worries, I'm not one to get upset over much... this thread moves fast and I find myself behind the times simply because I took a shower or ate dinner so, in my book this is a place for info and rehashing it sometimes also means those that missed out can catch up a bit quicker

I work for the redundancy department of redundancy department :D

something i caught off guard. i don't remember people mentioning this...

Source: The Shack makes ready for Sprint EVO 4G push – Android and Me

Browsing the comments from our last post, it looks like many are willing to leave their current carrier just to purchase the EVO. A business rep from Sprint shared with us that Sprint is offering a $100 credit to users who switch carriers and port their number. If you are one of the lucky people in the expanding 4G coverage area, then check out our 7 reasons to choose the HTC EVO 4G.
just in case people missed this post. it looks like sprint will give $100 credit for people who switch over to sprint by porting over.

maybe i should pm the guy and tell him i'll buy the device off him... dissect it. and perhaps get news coverage on CNN, then get my house raided by APPLE. LOL just kidding

So I just went back and found the post from a couple weeks ago and clicked on the video. It's been deleted. Obviously he realized his mistake and made a new youtube account to hide his identity.

Here's the original post. If you try to click the youtube links, they're dead.

in the original posts on the other forum, he did state that he went back and made some privacy "corrections", but yes it seems very legitimate.

I plan to PM him and ivite him over for a bar b q this weekend...

Uh oh mine says this...

"Offer details:

*Non-online orders: $18 activation fee per upgrade may apply.
Program expires June 6, 2010
**Does not apply to Sprint Relay, SERO and Nextel Direct Connect Custom Plan customers."

im a little worried now. But that's kind of dumb...They're only giving me 5 days to upgrade?

I believe what they are refering to is before it was just 150/75 off.. that full msg said until june 6th you could get either 150/75 OR the lowest national advertised price.. like the web offers...

Yeah I didn't make a big deal of it at the time cause I didn't want to out the guy. But it took about 3 seconds to find out where he works.

Now that he's secured his identity I didn't think making the ambiguous comment I made this morning.

I'd be very very careful and do some diligence before I hit submit on that link.

Anybody have any information that would validate this?

Another $100 off to go to a cheaper plan and top of the line phone?

Umm, where do I sign? Bye Bye Big Red! :D

Edit: Here is the fine print for it. Wonder what qualifies for an "eligible corporate-liable account"?

Service credit request must be made at https://www.sprintportcredit.com within 72 hours from the port-in activation date for your Service Credit Request. Service credit is available only to eligible corporate-liable accounts. Promo requires 2-year contract agreement outside of hierarchy/special contract terms. Must port in from an active wireless line and remain active on original account number for 61 days in order to receive full service credit. You should continue paying your bill while waiting for your service credit to avoid service disruption and possible credit delay.

Credits apply to all devices that have an associated mobile number and come through the port process. Promotion excludes port ins from providers currently associated with Sprint. Excludes all Individual Liable, Seasonal Standby, and Special Government Rate Plans less than $10 (e.g., U3169, U3169H, U3169D, C1266).
Payment Expectations: $100 per active line on the original Sprint Account Number will appear on your first or second invoice following the 61st day after the port-in activation. Service credits will appear in adjustment summary section at account level on invoice and will appear as a "VALUED CUSTOMER SERVICE CREDIT." If service credit does not appear on the invoice following the 61st day, visit https://www.sprintportcredit.com and click on "Where

oh and i spotted the white circles for the bottom menu buttons that someone was complaining about. i guess he got the answer. it's apparently not LED backlit but white circles.

Not white but silver I would think to match the silver earpiece.

I've said before in other threads, Sprint still has a chance to really hit hard with an early release. If Hesse says June 6, I'll buy it. Otherwise I'm holding out for something earlier (May 22/23). Remember, Hesse has pretty good knowledge of how ATT works (he was in charge of wireless at ATT at one point and probably VZW since they've always treated each others as direct competition while ignoring Sprint, T-Mo, and others.

Not sure what the plans/pricing will be but $199 plus $100 credit for switching will be devastating to the other carriers. This would almost as huge as the Evo and other phones coming out on Sprint. Then I think the only worries would be did Sprint & HTC account for enough 3G network capacity and phone units respectively.

I'd like to see them slip in the Moment2 as a late May/early June release surprise too. Lots of people with keyboard preference would be happy to get in on the wave too.

I also agree with the earlier post that it's about time for the leaks to start happening too. I've always maintained that once the phone hits people's hands, nothing will stop the leaks and information flow. That's probably the top reason I'm holding out hope for a May release.

Nothing we don't really already know, but you could look up the ID through the FCC's website and can uncover some juicy technical aspects I guess.

Bek, I assume this was you

Pardon my ignorance, but what exactly will the FCC ID tell us?

With a legitimate FCC ID, you can query the FCC website and find official documentation regarding the Evo. Oftentimes you can glean additional specifics from FCC documentation. Of course, this presumes it has passed the FCC, isn't still being held back due to NDA, etc.

Unlike various other information leaks (someone claiming to work for Sprint, the Shack, etc.), FCC documentation is 100% accurate in that they are legal documents. No risk of photo-chopped rumor garbage, etc.

And I must say I'm rather annoyed with this guy. He's monitoring the thread (I'm monitoring his profile), but he isn't making any more posts/answering any more questions. Raises questions...

I have not been able to rule out NM8 PB99400 as the FCC ID label, but I also can't confirm it. Grantee code NM8 seems to have been the most recent one assigned to HTC when it filed for the HTC Incredible and other recent phones. Product code started with PB, but I can't link that to any other product series or code names.

What other HTC phones are coming out in the next 30-90 days? Maybe some process of elimination could solve this.
