Been running the "Pete" script provided by Fab without any problems....Setcpu using my setting and profiles just fine....

just did a reboot for another app and it seems that now the 1000/250 settings from Pete's original BB are back....

do we have to run the new "Pete" script with Term Emu everytime we reboot?

no. the only reason we ran the script was to see the last line echo pete's name back to be sure the script is running. as long as the CPU lines are taken out there is no way those commands can run.

Well, I tried 4 of the P3 kernels, and I wiped the boot partition 3 times before each install. Not one of them would get past the "M" logo on my Droid. So I'm back to the Bekit 1200.

I tried the 1Ghz P3, wiped boot partition as well, never got past "M" logo. I had high hopes for that kernel after reading all the reviews.

Hmmmm...okay...let me run it again....

I replaced pete's script with the one that Fab came up with....echoes back Nexbeast rather than Pete's BB.....

I didn't think Pete's original settings could work anymore since I replaced them with Fab's, but after my last reboot I got the 1000/250 settings overriding mine....

will try it again....thanks!

in setCPU did you click set on boot?

any chance we could get the dock clock font to match the overall theme rather than the default android font? in both display mode and screensaver mode?

Sorry for the multiple posts...made it to the weekend and finally have time to play around with this more....

just sat down to try out some games on my Droid and none of them seem to be rendering correctly....Armored Strike, Blow Up, and Space Physics are all in various stages of screwy....Armored Strike has just a few graphics out of place, the other two are unplayable...

tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but no luck....not sure what is going on....wasn't sure if anyone else had any similar issues....

Hrm...what are you clocked at? I heard that sometimes there are video issues when clocked high, so maybe that could case the games to render incorrectly also?

Though I've never had the issue myself. I just loaded up a level of ExZeus @ 1.1GHz, and it rendered fine.

Sorry, I don't really know otherwise what could cause this.

No problem Fab...gotta be something that I've loaded or something...especially if no one else is having any issues....I'm overclocked at 900 right now and haven't had issues in the past....

Gonna experiment a bit...wipe, reload, etc.....will let you know if/when I figure it out...

You need to go into Settings>Language & Keyboard and turn off "Vibrate on keypress."

has anyone had problems with ringtones? Sometimes the one that i have selected for certain people ring like they should, other times it just chooses the default one. Anyone know whats up?

Are you using Helix 2 by any chance? I had the exact same issue (along with random reboots) and determined it to be caused by using Helix 2. Switched to Helix 1 and no more issues, just had to get over the loss of the 3D app draw.

Question, can I have SPRecovery and clockworkmod Recovery intsalled at the same time? I have ROM manager and it says that I need to have clockworkinstalled to flash and restore roms.

im using Helix 1, the one that comes with Nextheme.

No, but it is easy to flash back and forth between the two. There's even an option in ROM manager that will flash SPR for you. I haven't tried it yet but I bet it works. If you want, there are scripts you can run to get SPR back as well...

As for scripts, I use GScript Lite (free in the market) which allows to me set up homescreen shortcuts to frequently used scripts. To flash my recovery:

For SP Recovery:
flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-0.99.3b.img
reboot recovery

For Clockwork:
flash_image recovery /sdcard/what_ever_yourclockwork_is_called.img
reboot recovery

I tried flashing sprecovery from inside rom manager and got stuck at the m and couldn't access recovery. Also can't restore backups with cw without deleting md5 sum file and re-calculating md5 sum.

Just Rooted yesterday and running BB1.0. I have my launcher screens the way I want them and got all of the apps reinstalled and running.

Now...

if I flash NexBeast v1.o, will it trash all of the work I've done getting everything set up again?

Sorry of this is a stupid question?

The OTA Fix in the OP...

OTA Fix
-If you get prompted about an OTA update, flash SPRecovery (if you don't have it), and accept. SPRecovery will block the update, and then you will never be bothered again (can flash back Clockwork after)

Installation Instructions
-Rename to update.zip if using SPR, otherwise just install .zip with Clockwork.

...QUESTION:

Can I run this at any time or ONLY if I get an OTA prompt from Verizon? I'm looking for a way to prevent any further OTAs (without the complex method I've read about on the Forum requiring Terminal input, etc).

I am running Clockwork on top of BBv1.0. Can I install the OTA Fix?

Help appreciated mucho.

Make a nandroid backup first. Then, you can try installing this ROM over your BB install. It should be alright. However, if you have Facebook downloaded from the market, you may want to uninstall it first (since it is a system app in this ROM)

The OTA fix is a preventative measure. Install it so that if you do get the update message from Verizon, you can accept it and let recovery block it (as opposed to not ever having the prompt come up and the update just loop downloading in the background)
