Am i the only one whose battery last less than 12 hrs . Im running the 800 mhz . Only setspu profile is 400/250 wen in standby and task killer autokilling every 30 minutes .. my phone cannot last 12 hrs and thats on a day with 20 mins of calls and 40 texts i would say . Its so redic haha

Try a different kernel, experiment, and uninstall the task killer, I used one at first because Verizon rep said to, killed it soon and got better performance and better battery life without it.

Made the jump from DroidMod and all I can say is "wow." And why did I wait so long? I installed the update.zip over DroidMod after doing a full wipe three times and so far no problems. I went with the 1 Ghz kernal and decided to skip setcpu and let the ROM and kernal do their thing. I fired up Google Nav, started Pandora streaming, browsed the web, let it run like that for 15 minutes or so and my temps were 24c cpu and 27c battery. I coulda started a fire using DroidMod like that.

My question is whether installing over DroidMod like I did is going to cause me problems. So far I haven't seen anything weird, no FC's, hangs, reboots, etc.

I'm new to the root thing..I love this rom.I've been using this rom running the 800 mhz kernal for five days.I did have battery problems but did a battery drain and now its all good...but I have a question on the p3 kernals.can I install it without affecting petes scripts?and is it safe to install?

You should have no problem. I downloaded the P3 kernels from my phone straight from this website:

P3Droid Kernels

i just installed the 800 mhz kernel. ill keep you guys posted on how it goes for me as well.

i know i could push it harder but damn my cpu even gets toasty @800. this is my third droid, ive always gotten ones with hot cpus.

lol im almost tempted to pull it apart and slap some arctic silver on it lol

I feel so stupid, now. I'm going to have to rescind my previous statement about my backlight LEDs intermittently going off and on. APPARENTLY, the backlight LEDs are tied to the phone's ambient light sensor. I did not know, and now I feel stupid.

Carry on. =D

Guys i put the P3 1ghz Kernal on my phone about 3 days ago and is has been working beautifully. Temps are good, and the phone is fast. IT also didnt break anything in BBv1 from what i can see.

Same here, though I got stuck on the M the time before last I tried it, I tried again yesterday and it's working great.

Just so we're clear... installing a P3 kernel will not break any of the tethering options and what not? Will we need to launch setCPU or will Adam's scripts be enough?

Using P3 kernels will break the CPU scaling (so you'll need SetCPU) and the memory free that load at boot.

Anyone else having issues getting app update notifications? I just looked at my dls in the market and saw that 5 apps had updates but I was never notified.

I say props to you for being honest about the "non-problem"! Most people would blame some gremlins and say "well, I rebooted and the problems gone" so they didn't feel stupid. :D

There are times when in relatively low lighting and after flashing a new ROM or something and you're on the lookout for things not working properly...that you wonder if the auto brightness is working right. I've taken my Droid into the a better lit room and then a dark room just to verify.

I only have 11 of my 40+ plus apps even show up in the Downloads. I used astro to back up everything but now i wont get a update for the app unless i re-install it.

I thought i remembered Fab talking about this somewhere but i cant find it.

It's exactly as you say. Myself, in my not-knowingness, was being over scrupulous, and saw that as a fault or a bug in the ROM. You can also put your finger over the sensor and your softkeys will light up about a second later. I'm gonna have to flash back to this ROM because it was something different from the BLACK BLACK BLACK-themed ROMs, lol.

Try using the "market doctor" feature of Titanium Backup.

Couple of issues that I came across: When I reboot my phone, SetCPU says I'm running on conservative or userspace rather than ondemand. It's easy enough to change back to ondemand but why is it doing this? Also, my GPS is way off. Anyway to fix both of these issues?

Thanks

Fab great job with NexBeast. Flashed it last night and it's been running great!

Only bug (or maybe its supposed to be this way?) I noticed is that when i try and turn my phone off, it just reboots the phone. Not a big deal since I never really turn it off.

Also, I changed the /system/xbin/Pete file that GLD and others did and started using SetCPU again....this has really helped with the heat issues I'd been having.

Thanks again to everyone.
