Okay, so this particular phone, seems like its not the G4 Pro. It's a different phone, if I'm interpreting Evan Blass' tweet about it:

It is also a different model number...at least that's what I'm hoping because, I really think LG will be my last hope for a potential upgrade this year. Otherwise, I'll just stick it out with the Note 3 for another year.

Yeah, I wouldn't have expected it to be that popular. I think Sony has messed up throughout the years. Instead of pushing hard to get their devices on all 4 major carriers in the US, they didn't make that a priority. I know that I would've considered the Z3 last year, had it been on Sprint. And I know a few others as well. Sony could be such a competitor, but they always seem to lag behind just one step, in one way or another. Whether it's hardware or software.

I'm in the same boat. It's either looking like the g4 pro or (happily) riding out my note 4 for a long time. The note 3 is still a great phone! Heck, my mom loves the note 2 I recently handed down to her. Thank god for replaceable batteries letting you gift a 3 year old phone with no worries!

Looking at the rumored specs for that v10, it seems nice, but not sure why that would prove any more enticing than the g4, aside from the increase to 5.7. Just seems a bit odd to me. I'm hoping that is just exclusive for China and the US/Worldwide version has the rumored specs that were mentioned for the g4 pro/Note. We're only 1 month away, so all will be made clear soon, hopefully.
 
Looks like I'm in the same boat now, my 3 year old+ Droid Maxx has to go but I'm spoiled with a 3300mah battery and an SD card, so I don't know if LG G4 is the way to go now (I'm on Verizon) or wait to see what else may be released within the next few weeks, if anything. I still can't believe that Samsung S6 and Note 5 are now trying to mimic the iPhone with it's limitations, what a shame.
 
Again, really hoping Samsung concentrates on getting back to productivity/usefulness over form factor. I think the Note 5 looks great, but doesn't offer the productivity level that I need. If plans are still in place to have their folding devices selling by 2016, I really hope that they figure it out with the microSD. After all, the justification behind losing the microSD for their phones doesn't necessarily sit right anymore, since the new Tab S that they announced has a microSD slot!...LOL

Saw this article and I'm really hoping that all the patents they've been filing for foldable devices actually amounts to at least one of them going to production next year.

I'm with a lot of you. Have a Note 3 and just itching to upgrade after having it two years now. Starting to show its age some. I was very interested in the Note 5 until Sammy blew it and left out the sd slot and only gave it max 64gb. I just bought a 128gb sd for the Note and am not going backwards storage wise! So that's dead, so that left me with either the Note 4 DE which Sammy again blew and discontinued. I even wrote them and asked to buy a DE. Nope, no go. I told em they blew it because I'm now going back to Moto with the Moto X Pure. They smartly returned the sd card AND this thing is MUCH cheaper ($500 loaded, 64gb internal and sd) vs over $800 for the Note 5 with a measly 64gb and no sd. Ridiculous. PLUS the Moto X Pure can unlock the bootloader! Not only is it unlocked for carrier access but you can unlock its BL. The camera is much improved as well. This looks to be a unbeatable phone and Sammy really blew it....
 
I would've gone with Moto X Pure or LG G4. I like the near-stock Android on Motorola devices, and the microSD slot and its price almost won me over. I seriously wanted G4 when it was first announced, but seeing the screen in person convinced me otherwise.
 
I've looked at it, too expensive, 5088 yuan CNY for 32GB version, that's just under $800 USD. All phones are sold unlocked and there's no subsidized carrier contracts available.

So I'm actually seriously considering Oppo R7 Plus next month, 3299 yuan CNY, also 32GB, however it also takes an SD! 32GB internal alone wouldn't be enough, given I'm currently using 16GB internal plus 64GB SD.
 
With the recent Phandroid article discussing the additions on the Snapdragon 820, I might just wait until that's actually in production phones. I'm still holding out hope that, by some miracle, LG puts the 820 in the G4 Pro / Note / V10 (or whatever it'll be called) and it lives up to something that will truly work for my needs.

Otherwise, I may just suck it up for a few more months with the Note 3 (still running strong, but actually running out of internal storage), and just wait for the folding phones.
 
Well, I took the plunge and picked up the Note 5. The picture and video quality is mind blowing, the Stylus functions and it's ease of use also sold me, so far the battery life has been a none issue, the lack of a micro SD card is a bummer but it's easy enough to connect a USB cord to my computer and unload the memory eating vid's once in a while. The cordless charger is a nice bonus. I played with every new cell phone offered by Verizon and this is by far the best out there today, IMO.
