Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

Google Voice is allows you to send/receive texts/calls via VOIP, basically. You can pick a phone number or port your mobile phone number to their service. Then you can either handle those calls/texts via the Hangouts app or have them forwarded to any other number(s). I have a Utah number on there from my college town. If I ever have to put up an ad or anything where I need to make a phone number available, but don't want to make my main number available, I use my GV number.

Exactly! [emoji106]

You can also use the Google Voice app!

Personally, I refuse to use Hangouts, because I have no use for all of extra 'features'
Railway station muzak, If You Leave Me Now played on a erhu.

Ended up buying a $10 tracfone at Wal-mart last night and porting the number to it. $20 to keep the number alive for 90 more days.
Well, maybe you will be able to port the number from the Tacfone to Google Voice.

Also, doing a quick Google search, I see that others have the same problem.

Someone suggested this as a possible way to save the phone number for later use...

Number garage wants me to sign up and pay for the service before they will check if they can port my number. No thanks. None of their competitors can do it so I don't have faith that they can.

Tried voice again this morning, still won't work.

I get this error:

Porting your mobile number to Google Voice is unavailable
Your mobile number can not be ported at this time.
- This number appears to be from an area we don't currently support for porting.

Only been here 6 days, and people are already asking me to help them with their things.

Buy a new phone, I can't be bothered with this one.

"Unfortunately, Motorola Launcher has stopped."
Maybe use another phone to download a launcher and make a apk backup and if you can get into Bluetooth settings pair it up with said device and send the apk to the lenovo phone and install that? Maybe it'll stop the fc message from popping out.

Couldn't do anything with it, apart from factory reset via recovery, but then it was crashing again after that. Just kept on showing the launcher stopped message. Obviously with the busted glass it had been subject to hard impact at sometime. So that Lenovo went to the great recycling bin in the sky, last night....ashes to ashes...dust to dust...gongs struck...trumpets playing.
