Root What would happen if I removed /system/xbin?

Those are where your extra binaries are stored, things like busybox if you're rooted.

BTW, are you rooted?

Why are you wanting to blow away system directories??

Well I was rooted..... until I updated my su binary. So I want to get rid of the root stuff that is now basically useless. I thought /system/xbin was the folder that held all the root info/supplies.

Yeaaaaahhhh, ok, mostly root stuff goes there. I'd have to know every Android device to say that's all that's ever there.

The vast majority of what you should have there is just named links to busybox, taking very little space in and of themselves.

Are you trying to spruce up your root status or remove it?

Which, either way, I'll be moving this to the root forum shortly, just saying.

If I was you I wouldn't delete that folder occidental and then my play store stopped working and in order to get it to work I had to mess with the files on root explorer and I don't know how to get the folder back and it won't let me root without it and I can't boot into recovery and I don't know why and I haven't figured it out yet so any help would be appreciated

Dangerous to remove /system/xbin? You need it to have Android up and running, so yes, it is. Are you still interested in rooting? You seem to be wondering about this one thing.
Really? system/xbin needed. I had believed that is a user created folder, because I have actually been trying to find mine in ES File Explorer, but it is not there. I have a Droid Maxx XT1080M...Rooted, on 4.4.4. Seriously, I dont know what to think now, but I have no such folder, (that I can find), because I am getting ready to install BusyBox. If anyone really know's how I can find it, and if it is required, please post it. Thanks.

My /xbin is reading as 355.50 Mb. Are there any universal binaries I can remove? I'm running a rooted, busybox installed , Android 4.4 optimus

NO! Some of those files are necessary for the system to run audio apps. The jack ones, specifically.
I doubt this. I am pretty sure you can delete them. All necessary libraries, binaries, apps and other needed things are in /bin and /sbin. /xbin is not required to run Android.

Either way, it isn't dangerous either.

You could theoretically remove the entire directory without destroying your system, since /xbin is not required to run Android, although this might break root privileges and busybox binaries.

How can I install adb and fastboot zip on Android emulator? I have tried so many zips and it always shows Fastboot can't execute, Is a directory.
